Well-- if anyone is trying to ups-manship Tye Paulson's find, a two-box could(?) possibly do it; and you sure would not be pestered with "BB's" and even large calibre cartridges or spent bullets and balls and other trash. And any nugget-sized gold finds would be impressive!

As far as large coils hooked up to a VLF-type detector;this could be okay--- I sure will not discourage anyone. I have a 15-inch Coiltek for my 17000 and it does a fair job in some areas in the 6.4 kHz mode. However, the 6-inch circular DD in 32 kHz seems to work well.

The "big-boys" will not find them all. Jerry has a Minelab 2200d and a smile on his face as he found gold in Nev.(Sorry Jerry, I had to brag about you!)

I have a Bondar-Clegg soil test kit. (BCC THM Geochemical
Kit T-400.) It has been setting for many years and not complete and the ravages of time have got to it. Action Mining should be able to supply the THM buffer, toleune and Dithizone. I was once in contact with both Paul Jones and
Russell T. Axeworthy and feel that geochemical exploration
a good way to go. The chemicals, toleune could be carcenogenic if missused. I will gladly give it to you (Randy) as it could have merit. However, Russ's kit is a good way to go.

Another method--- see if you could get a copy of "Plants as a Guide to Mineralization," SR #50 (California Division of Mines.) Originally sold for 50 cents in 1958. However, I could xerograph my copy. And I might still have an extra copy of Russ's book on geochemical prospecting.

Geochemical methods only involve testing shallow holes on the surface; not underground.

PS: I was once sorta serious and did considerable freelance consulting up to about 1982--- but nearly got in serious trouble while underground in an oldmine last worked in the 1970's. My recommendation to all reading this post--- Stay out of old idle mines(even if last worked as short as 20 years ago) as time has made them dangerous; especially if epithermal type associated with volcanic country rock.

Randy you have my email address; let me know. Jerry all is a go with the venture.
