Subject: Compass AU 52

I lucked out (I hope) and have a compass AU 52 on its way to me. I found a few old posts here by Jim Straight and a couple of others about this machine and the AU 2000.

I have seen it with both an eliptical and a round coil. anyone know which came first?

Is ather any chance that coils for the White's Goldmaster series of 48 khz detectors can be adapted?

Any other hands-on experience to relate.
