Subject: Nuggetshooting Pigs

Hi Guys,

I live in Alaska. I just had a friend return from a nugget hunting trip to Nevada and elsewhere. I was horrified by his report of what he saw in the goldfields.

Large holes left open, trash dug up and left next to holes, and of all things... discarded batteries!

I've been hoping to visit down south and nugget hunt some day, but it sounds like I may not have anywhere to go hunt soon unless the nugget hunting community starts policing itself.

Either these bad apples get shut down, or we will all see what few accessible sites there are shut down to metal detecting.

I swear if I ever see anyone exhibiting this kind of behavior I will turn them in for destruction of public property or whatever other law I can find on the books (littering?) to hit them with. This BS has got to stop! It's not just bad behavior, it is a personal attack against me by threatening something I enjoy very much... metal detecting.

And word was it was not just the newbies but some so-called "pros". I do not care how much gold a person finds, they are not professionals if they behave like this. The words I would use to describe them cannot be printed here.

Sorry for the rant, but this subject really pisses me off!! Anyone detecting around me can consider this fair notice...
