Hello Paul,
There is an advantage these days to being able to rent or try before you buy and get hands on training in some cases.
So the above offers would most deffinatly be worth looking into.

Another option is do ask around as you are doing then get a good deal on a used detector and have at it. Go to where gold has been found before and doing some research can put you there.
