Hello Gene
Jim McC will know hat you need to do; until you get his expert advise let me throw my 2-cents in. If the coil was bought used, it might have a problem you inherited. Unfortunately a new coil if rough housed can become noisy. Or the worst case scenario, it could have a tendancy to be noisy if bumped.

If it is the wrong coil for a Gold Master, but boots up, naturally it will not work properly. As far as I know all of the GM coils, the GB-ll, v/sat, Gm-3, 4/b, and GMT are all interchangeable.

Sometimes a loose or flopping cable can be noisy. Make sure all cable connections tight and wires not flopping in the breeze. Since your GMT is operates to your satisfaction with other coils it is likely the coil.

Incidentally, Alan C. found a nice keeper using his 2200d/11-inch mono June 8th in the "Randsburg area." Just a few feet from where Dean, Joe, and George have found theirs. Everyone in this group has now found a nugget except me. Since I haven't found my trophy big-un, I guess I gotta get a small coil and start combing some of the drywasher tailing piles!

If you, Randy, and Erich--- please!--- will find one soon, then hopefully it will be "my turn." I gotta beat out Rick D. He is out swinging the GP Extreme.

I feel absolutely great. I can see to drive at night.
