Hearts and Crowns is a joke. In one of the groups one of the little girls won everything including optionals she entered except photogenic (2nd RU) and sportswear (1st RU) and only received 1st RU in Beauty. When the master scoresheet was posted, her scores beat the child that the queen's title was given to. The director said it is because they are a "Total Package System".. You tell me.. how total package can it be when the queen only won photogenic....NOTHING else!!! We will NEVER go back. (NT) -- No name, 07:38:37 05/25/03 Sun

Yes, you do have to be "in" with them to win and history shows that. Yes you can find a few alibi winners every year who are not "in" with them and that's what they are - alibis.So that when people get mad at all the COI, they can dig out those alibi winners and say "See, this kid won,we don't know her , our pageant is fair !" I agree. Pageants were not like that until they started competing their kid. Now you never know if/when you're going to have a fair judging or if they paid them ! For one thing they're not at "every" pageant. Just the select few they know they have an "in" with. Second, parents are going to get fed up with loosing the SAME kids that get 45mns for their make up sessions while their daughter gets 10. This pageant is a total COI! Illinois pageant is a joke. $400 for beauty & swimwear. Winners get cash (prorated), but losers go home with a $10 plaque.
