Subject: girlysounds
hi. i have a question. i'm just getting into liz phair and i'm wondering about a cd (bootleg,promo?) called "girlysounds". i've seen it as a 2 disc set and a 4 disc set. what can you tell me about it? how's the quality? is it worth the 30-40 bucks i've seen it for on ebay? thanks.

people who cant stand liz phair come to this site to criticize what she does because she is so offensive and people are driven to let people know how they feel because they feel strongly about the matter ! including myself ! when someone so unworthy of adulation has such high visibility and other artist especially other female artist dont get their due it is a little frustrating to say the least. well, they say simple minds rule the world , which is obviuosly true if george bush is the president of the united states , its embarrasing really ! ALMOST AS EMBARASSING AS THE NEW INCARNATION OF MRS. PHAIR . HOW EMBARRASSING IT MUST BE , TO BE COMPARED TO ARTIST OF SUCH CREDIBILITY AS AVRIL LAVINGE , AND MANDY MOORE !!!!

IN DEFENSE OF LIZ , SHE DOESNT CLAIM TO BE ANYTHING SPECIAL , SHE IS JUST GRATEFUL TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO RELEASE MATERIAL AND MAKE A CAREER OUT OF IT .AT LEAST HER INTEGRITY IS STILL INTACT , SHE MAKES HER OWN CHOICES WHEN IT COMES TO HER CAREER. The Girlysound songs originate from home recordings done by Liz before she released her first album. They were recorded on a 4-track and Liz gave out only 2 copies of the tapes, from which gazillions of dubs have been made. The sound quality is very lo-fi, but that's not really the point. As far as I'm concerned, this is Liz at her finest, with just her and her guitar and some fantastic songs.
