Subject: Just met Liz last night!!

Christmas came early at my house lads and lasses! I went to "Miracle on State Street" at the Chicago Theatre last night, a triple bill with Liz, Barenaked Ladies, and Jason Miraz. Anyway, I only cared about seeing Liz and I was totally bummed when the MC came on and said that due to her larengitis(sp?) she would only be playing two songs! She did a really old one and a Christmas duet with Jason Miraz (who by the way is obsessed with her - he hat a hat on that said "Liz Phair wants me" or something, and made refrence to her in most of his songs). After the two songs, I went to the bathroom and as I was coming back out I saw that Liz was standing in the main hall with only a handfull of people around her! I about died! I darted over thre and started babbling to her about how great it was that she did the two numbers, and what a trooper she is, etc. She is SOOOO HOT!! She was wearing a mini skirt and black heels, and looked amazing - she is TEENY though! Anyway, I told her that I needed to find someone to take my picture with her and she took my camera, put her arm aound me, held it out and took the shot. How cool is THAT?? I thaked her and backed off to let others get their chance. Inthe meantime, I found my friend and we went back to see if she was still there - and she was, gratiously signing autographs and taking pictures with people. I got an autograph and another shot with her and my friend. She was so nice to people - it just made my fucking year. I love her and will never forget how she took care of her fans. - Mike

WOW! Cool you met her. I was there too. BNL put on a great show, although the one last month at the Riv was better. I'm a huge Liz fan myself. Too me, it doesn't get any better than Polyester Bride. Liz- polyester- do i need to go on?

I must confess though, i did feel a little ripped off. I think she owes Chicago another concert. Quite franky, if i knew she she had larengitis, there no way i would have dropped $100+ per ticket. Even if it was for charity.

PS - the metro show was awesome. 3 nights - now that's what i'm talking about! Come back!!!!!!!!

I also went to Chicago's Miracle on State Street only to see Liz Phair. And I'm somewhat pacified to find out she greeted her fans after her (non) appearance.

I have to admit I lost some interest in the girl after that last album...but, if I may be so trite, I do wish success for her, and that includes lots of money. And her bout with laryngitis makes me feel bad for saying this, but...

I'm just so dissappointed. As a fan from the earlier days, I looked forward to seeing her for the first time Saturday. Just like I looked so forward to the release of her album. I know it's juvenile, but I'm pouting...and I've decided to sing along with my older Liz Phair albums rather than shell out any more cash to see her in person.

i was there as well. very dissapointing, but there's not much you can do. i was more mad at the radio station for lying to us the whole time!

what was the song that she did sing? i am not a huge fan, but know some of her stuff, but i really liked that song; even though it was sung with lyrangitis!

poor liz

oh and the bnl "peepshow" was ten times better than the lame miracle on state st. concert. they're luck some of the proceeds went to charity, other wise i would have complained big time
