Subject: Franklin Kirby Wells 08/03/36 - 02/26/11

I am sad to report the passing of our classmate Kirby Wells. I will take the liberty of posting the email I received from his daughter.

I am writing to everyone on my father’s contact list to let you know of his passing yesterday. My mom has lost the love of her life, and we have each lost the presence of a very gentle, sweet, kind man. He loved my sister and I more than words could cover. He was fortunate enough to have spent his last days with us in great spirits. We had dinner Sunday and I cut his hair. As some of you may or may not know, there were times in life when my dad and I didn’t see eye to eye. I am very grateful that over the course of the last 5 years, we not only made amends, but we truly got to know each other and enjoy each other for the many gifts we had to offer. I’m lucky he took the opportunity and forever changed by the experience of it. I’m trying to call those who were especially close, so bare with me. I have only his email contact list and am actively seeking the telephone numbers. Funeral services will be announced later today. On a lighter note, when I asked dad where he thought he might end up after this life, he calmly stated that he hoped wherever it was, it would indeed be tax-free. We share that sense of humor.
