Author: Irenne [Lathai] - Merith
Subject: Wandering

Humming a little tune, Irenne wandered through the common room, wondering if it would ever be filled with people. At least there were four--no, five, she corrected herself, candidates already. Hopefully they would stay permanently, whether or not they Impressed. Irenne stopped her humming with a sigh as she sat down on one of the chairs, absently tapping her fingers on the stone to the tune of the song that was still in her head. Merith, down on the sands, was now the center of her attention. Twenty-seven eggs! A magnificent clutch, especially when it included a queen egg--a far cry from the ten or so eggs Merith's dam had laid. Merith, my dear, you've entirely outdone yourself, she fondly told the gold. Merith was down in the hatching grounds, brooding over her eggs, having surrounded the precious golden egg with the other creamy-white eggs. _I should think you'd be exceedingly pleased,_ Merith retorted quickly. So I am, dear queen, so I am. For the moment, Irenne smiled softly, her eyes taking the unfocused look of a rider speaking to her dragon.
