David,

I don't know. But why would anyone say that the Book of Mormon is an auxiliary? Most of that book was written before the New Testament.

What does it really mean to be "auxiliaries"? According to the dictionary, an auxiliary is somthing that gives support or assistance. It also acts as a subsidiary or supplentary. This word could not be appropriately applied to the Book of Mormon nor the Doctrine & Covenants, because both books are records of lands in the opposite hemisphere than the lands of the Bible. The Bible does not even speak of the same people as the other two books, except, of course, Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon does refer to the Jews, but is not a record of the Jews in the Middle East, like the Bible is. In order to be a auxiliary, a book or document has to address the same people in the same location at the same time. Therefore, none of the three books could be considered an auxiliary of the other two.

Whoever made such a statement as you have quoted does not understand what he or she is speaking of?
