FAST FOOD DRAGON QUEST
(I'll note that I'm asuming whoever is posting as Fate is a recent addition.)

NADIA: You know, Fate, I'd really like to just cut the rest of this little dragon quest short and have my dragon here and now. I mean, I have been wandering around this dark cavern and listening to some large beast snore for nearly a year, and I think I've earned it.
FATE: Hmmm...I dunno...it'd be my first time as Fate doing a dragon quest...I don't think I should let you off easy.
NADIA: Why not? Just look at some of my previous posts. It's obvious that I'm good.
FATE: *looks back at all the previous posts* You are doing really well. I confess, when I first read these I was wondering, ‘Why isn't she attacking?! Do it! Smack that dragon!' but it occurs to me that if I was running someone through their dragon quest, and they tried to pull that, I'd kill ‘em right then and there.
NADIA: So you admit I am good at coming up with alternatives?
FATE: Yeah, I do.
NADIA: And it is clear that I write clearly and comprehensibly?
FATE: Yes...
NADIA: And it is simply OBVIOUS that I can role-play?
FATE: You got me there.
NADIA: And my quest has already started, so I've passed any and all preliminary quests, right.
FATE: Well, I wouldn't know about that. I'm new, y'see.
NADIA: I have. The answer is yes, I have.
FATE: Okay then.
NADIA: So what's the problem? Just let me have that sleeping dragon that I've come across.
FATE: You make a good point, but do you really want that one?
NADIA: Why not? A dragon is a dragon.
FATE: In the same way that a dog is just a dog. That dragon is fat, lazy, and loud. He'll require you to pamper him 24/7, or he'll refuse to fly.
NADIA: ...Oh. I thought that once you befriend a dragon, the player gets control. I certainly wouldn't do that to my own dragon, I'd make him nice and sweet.
FATE: I personally would make an exception for this guy. He is L-A-Z-Y!
NADIA: But I probably won't be getting another chance to meet a dragon, and I certainly don't want to get involved in that fight. What can I do?
FATE: You'll just have to settle. What will you tolerate?
NADIA: Well, in that case, I'll settle for a quick, strong, gorgeous, smart, powerful dragon that likes everyone and heeds my every command. I SUPPOSE I could settle for just that.
FATE: Fair ‘nuff.
NADIA: Really?
FATE: Yeah, sure. If that's the minimum you'll put up with, that's what you'll get. So his name is—
NADIA: HIS name is? I do believe I said gorgeous, not handsome.
FATE: Err, actually, gorgeous AND handsome work both ways...*sees the look in Nadia's eyes* Ah. Yes. How foolish of me. HER name is...uh...um...Emily-o-saur.
NADIA: No. Absolutely not.
FATE: What? It's a good name! Some dragons would kill for that name!
NADIA: No it isn't. I will not ride my steed into battle and have the enemies cry out in fear, "Run away! It's Emily-the-dinosaur-dragon!" while trying not to snigger.
FATE: Well, fine. What do you suggest?
NADIA: How about...Sylarine?
FATE: It sounds like a slimy orange peel.
NADIA: Sylarine. I like it. Give me a wonderful magical super dragon named Sylarine.
FATE: Fair ‘nuff. Done. I hope that's good enough for you? A perfect dragon to suit your tastes? Say no more, for it is yours. Would you like a free book of ultimate magic with that?
NADIA:...You know what? I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. But you just said I could have my dragon, and now I have it in writing! Ha ha ha!
FATE: D'oh! Curse you, written language! Cuuuuurse yoooooooooou!

THE END, since I'm not good at writing endings. (I am not Fate or Nadia, so please don't get mad at me...I just saw what was posted over at the volcanoes, and was bored.)

Granted, I haven't seen those people post in the other forums, but I saw some named dragons...And if you look in the archives of the council hall they gave one person an order to join...But you're absolutely right.
