I think it is natural for people to seek conspiracies to explain horrible events. Frankly, the simplest answer is the typically right.

Like many people, I believed there was a conspiracy to kill JFK, that Oswald either didn't shoot or was one of several assassins, that the Warren Report was wrong, and Jack Ruby pulled off a mafia hit. After several years of research, and a visit to Dallas, I came to the conclusion that Oswald acted alone, Ruby was a lunatic who acted alone, and the Warren report was essentially right.

I read this stuff before and I hate to break it to you guys who believe otherwise, but the only thing that brought down the Twin Towers and hit the Pentagon was a bunch of lunatics in fuel-laden jet planes.

I mean, come on, the pilot for the short-lived TV series "The Lone Gunman" in Jan/Feb 2001 featured a terrorist plot to fly a commercial airliner into the World Trade Center. My fellow reporters who cover defense news (I'm a freelance editor/reporter for a couple DC-area military databases) have been saying the same thing for years - fly a plane into a skyscraper and kills thousands -its really a no-brainer.

Occam's razor, all thinsg being equal the simplest solution is usually the correct one. Oswald acted alone and the only thing that brought down the Twin Towers were the lunatics in the airplanes.
