Subject: "flag burning" amendment

This is THE DUMBEST thing I've ever seen. Are they trying to say the flag is sacred? Isn't it a symbol of absolute freedom to burn it if that is your expression? Most are being manufactuered in China so do they become sacred once they hit the self of Wally-world in the US?

If you burn YOUR flag that's YOUR business...you paid for it. If you burn MY flag...we'll have a serious problem because I paid for it, it's MY property and I value it for MY own reasons.

The same jerks whom gripe about and deny desecration of the Koran are trying to put that SAME idolitry into the flag?!?....I don't get it.

I DON'T approve of it's destruction myself BUT it's none of my business of what you do with YOURS.

My wife has this horrible Uncle Sam lawn ornament shoved in a box in the basement. It is covered with the stars and stipes. If (when) I give old Sammy the boot...suppose I'll get jail time if the flag police catch me?

Where does THIS one end?

WASHINGTON (AP) - The House on Wednesday approved a constitutional amendment that would give Congress the power to ban desecration of the American flag, a measure rejected twice by the Senate in the past decade but expected to get a closer vote this year.
