The way of life in the pieces we are reading and that of the present are quite different. The government of this time frame seems to be that of the divine rights theory, where the King is the ruler, and the people are there to serve. If not of royalty or of some place in the royal army, i.e. knighthood, one is presumed to be of the lower class, i.e. peasant. When of upper class or royalty, one must of had the opportunity to have an education. Lower class probably no formal education because of the obligation to work. If any education at all, it was probably done at home in one's spare time and was taught by a parent or sibling.
