I have a suggestion. Make the corner modules freestanding. On the side modules put one folding leg arrangement instead of two (saves cost and weight). The end of the module without legs could be handled in several ways.

C clamp only to next module.
Put a lip on end of module that has legs to support next module while clamping. Could be a problem if modules are of various thickness.
Make a hole or slot to slide a pin, bolt, or dowel.
Use PVC leg or legs. One in the center of the edge might be enough until modules are clamped together. PVC legs can just be a temporary support while setting up and don’t really need to carry any weight. Leg could be a little short so doesn’t actually touch floor after clamped to next unit. Making it easier to level things.
