Subject: 4 Seasons

Bleak season for this forum this season. In past seasons, the league pleaded for ANY input... e.g. how a GM viewed his teams chances, reviews on your favorite players, idiodic moves, rating trades, plans for the future, draft results, how your team got screwed the week B4, how your team was gonna kick ass this week... I miss the week in review, the odds page, the rumour page and ALL the trivia stuff we used to get here. I'd tune in every day (still do) expecting some little tidbit, and I was seldom disappointed. I admit I have had zero time to post the past 2 seasons because my life has changed. So, I took a day off. My 1st priority is my favorite diversion... the FIFL. Forget the resume I'm suposed to forward, the weed field in front yard, the sqeaky belts on my '94 Saturn, the never ending "honey do" list and going to work (ugh) This is FOOTBALL!!! ...and I DO love it so! My focus here is to review my 4 seasons in the toughest league I have EVER been involvced with (IMHO, this league is what you get with a stats guru in control.) Not that that is a bad thing, just refreshingly different... and FAR more diffcult. As such, a few obsevations:

I took over the Louisiana Bayou Beast in 2001. I was no stranger to this league. I was kicked out (rightly so) as owner of the Green Bay Bombers for unfair flaming diaparaging posts. I refused to believe the results I witnessed were believable. Given a 2nd chance, Jimmy Hanlon Enterprises Total Team Traing Camp (JHETTTC) after protracted negoititions during which we understadably had zero leverage (BISMARK, now LINCOLN the main focus [JHETTTC still believes Black Hills would have gone down that season]) accepted ownership of the Louisiana Bayou Beast. Since then, that football club is:

41 - 28 - 1 (68.3%) season record (and 3 of 4 division titles.) Overall since the team started, 19 - 11 (57.8) in the playoffs.

Won 3 (outa 4) division titles [defeating NFC import Utah [Austin} in the process.

Have the league record of 14 non-losing games in a row (the only flaw is the 17 - 17 tie to GB in 2003 in the midst of the streak)

FINAL NOTE: ON PAPER, Portland wins it all again this year. Perrenial powerhouse Wichita will contend. DO NOT count out Dayton (revamped, but dangerous) OR Madison (club is LUCKY, which I'll take every time.) Colorado was MY pick to win it all LAST season, and they have done little to disuade me they win it all THIS season... but DO NOT OVERLOOK the Beast.

TC in Springfield, Joe J. in St Luois (I might have decined trades in my innagural season,) Josh in Steel Valley and Mike B (dude has a HUGE future nuclueos) in Fort Wayne may make us ALL look silly in the future. GEEPERZ, did I leave out that that Jim in Wichita is Joe (Portland) older brother??? Check THAT out as a matchup!!!
