Subject: SAD... sickening even

... to see so properous a franchise as Dayton go down to ignomious defeat. IMHO, they sealed their own fate. Blessed with a thoroghbred, one does NOT subjugate that entity to 2nd best. WR Anthony Payton is now, perhaps, a footnote for the future... but in what may be his final appearance, albiet great, was diminished by his demotion to WR2. QB Joshua Wallwork was always about having targets. WR Anthony Drakeford will perhaps go down in FIFL history as the target that failed Wallwork in his final moment of potential glory. This is a CLASSIC case of a where a veteran can make a differense. Wallwork had to check off of WR1 how many times to find WR2 and WR3? TOO MANY to allow his team to prevail. It will be interesting, indeed, to see if Dayton recovers from this emminately winable game. See what I mean about Madison being lucky? Perhaps the best K in the league (Mike Moser) goes 0 fer 2, the damning blow being a missed 36 yarder to win it that went wide in the swirling winds at Madison. THAT is why the line is even this week in the AFC Conference Championship. The better team may NOT prevail unless it has favor in the eyes of the football gods... and even THAT may not be enough to best this plucky franchise. QB Fuentes is lightening in a bottle. Contain him, or else. The Mad Dogs ANYWHERE are a freightening entity, at home, as sure a thing as there is. Good luck to any pretenders. The ONLY team that has a prayer is Louisiana... which is why there are prayer meetings after every practice this week. The EVEN line is right on. Which Bayou Beast team will show up? The bumbling, stumbling, fumble prone KeyStone Cops? or the FIFL champs? Stay tuned... I'd pay good money to witness this conference championship game.

NO sadness in the Coloado camp. Lacking experience last season, this franchise bowed out in the 1st round. Given a 2nd chance this season, they advanced at the expense of an awesome Wichita season long performance. Portland is rightly favored by 1, but watch out for the Wildcats. GREAT drama unfolding on the road to the 2005 FIFL Bowl!
