dateline Baton Rouge... The Louisiana FIFL franchise concluded protracted negotiations over the past few weeks with Mobile. Gone is the bulk of the last 2 drafts. Arriving, perhaps, are players necessary for another Beast title run. The Beast PPPs this season demanded different players. Management went out and secured some of them. "We're not done yet" mused GM Hanlon. "If we are lucky, we will see a totally revamped roster for this weeks game. We can only hope another deal breaks soon." Anaysis is spotty so far. QB Johnny Johnson takes over for incumbent Joshua Wallwork. The theory is, given the PPPs employed this season, Johnson can complete a higher percentage of long passes dictated. RB Tony Burse, a fan favotite, will be missed. His first appearance in an FIFL game resulted in a catch for a long TD. His special teams expertise will be missed. HB Lynn Bradford hopes to make fans forget him. WR Kenny Causey was brought in to bolster the lackluster Punt Return aspect. WR Lee McCormick may assume duities as WR1. The team is still sorting that out. DL Art Malupe was relegated to bench duty in Mobile. Louisiana hopes he has enough left in his tank to bolster an aleady adequate pass rush unit. LB Ansel George steps in in his familiar LB1 slot. DB Darnell Hasson moves from his accustomed CB1 slot to S2. Those 84 HAs should improve a sad Louisiana turnover ratio. K Mike Moser is being shopped. Brion Hurley has finally found a modicum of confidence, "We still have another deal in the works" warned GM Hanlon. Stay tuned!
