Subject: QB Controversy in Springfield?

QB James Brown rallied the Slayers to an amazing comeback against Louisiana in Week 8, leading the team to 3 TDs within the last 10 minutes of the game. In Week 1, Brown replaced starter Wilkie Perez with 10 minutes remaining against Black Hills and nearly led Springfield to victory on the road.

Brown has a QB rating of 127.0 in just 20 minutes of playing time, has thrown for 325 yards completing nearly 80% of his passes with 3 TDs with 0 INTs. To his credit, Wilkie Perez-the QB who has started in every single game for the Slayers since 2000-is having his best season to date throwing for 10 TDs and only 1 INT.

Which QB gives the team the best shot of defeating the rolling Hurricanes? Honolulu has the 3rd-ranked defense in the league and have allowed the fewest points (124). Combine a tough defense with a high-powered offense (4th in Rushing, 6th in Passing) and the 4th-ranked Springfield defense has a difficult assignment as well.

Naturally a QB controversy is brewing in Springfield--who should start in Week 9 vs Honolulu? The younger, stronger and more mobile Brown or the more intelligent, wiser veteran Perez? Obviously, the offensive coordinator and head coach have a very difficult decision to make before gametime on Thursday.
