Subject: I hear you talking, but is your money where your mouth is?

Head Coach Higgins seems to be fireballing through the schedule all of a sudden. The 0-4 start must have set a fire under his ass and has him laying down the law to his Renegade Squad. Andy Kelly & Josh Luedtke have been rotated at the Quarterback position and Higgins realizes that Josh is the right quarterback to have under the center this season. Andy is very talented, but needs another season to adjust to the Renegades newly designed scheme.
Glenn Vereen and Broderick Sargent are under the microscope as they have failed to produce consistantly in the past 2 seasons. They aren't being pressured into losing their jobs anymore than they have with league total rushing yards decreasing in every city. The Renegades coaching staff would like to see a consistant play level from both backs to continue their winning streak.

This weeks game with Steel Valley is huge to the entire Renegades organization. Steel Valley has been talking big changes and are a slot higher in the standings than St. Louis. With a win, Steel Valley will be tied with Renegades, with the Renegades placed above them if they win. To win this game St. Louis will have to play smart football. Steel Valley has been winning games ugly! If the Renegades can manage to not turnover the ball, the Smash will have few chances to put the ball into scoring position. Tracey Perkins will have to jam Scroggins at the line of scrimmage and cover well downfield to hold the Smash to low pass totals and the solid linebacker crew will have to apply pressure to Melvin Hill and stuff Ruter on the rushing side of the Smash offense. James Burke will test rookie Tom Briggs' ability on the end of the line, and Darnell Minnieweathe and Marcus Wiggins will have to blitz around to apply maximum pressure to disrupt the Smash offense.

Kalen Deboer's performance hasn't shown in statistics, but the double coverage he has picked up recently has opened up different areas of the field. Robert Hammond is getting the opportunity to utilize his speed on plays and Ryan Hinske will take kick off returns for a couple of weeks. If things turn out well for Hammond at the slot, he may find himself earning more playing time and Hinske will be on his way to a new home.

Thats it from St. Louis. Will this turnaround continue? Or will it fall apart like previous seasons for this organization. Tune in on Thursday to find out!
