Denis O'Conor inherited the title of O'Conor Don from his cousin Fr Charles O'Conor in 1981, upon the latter's death. Denis died in July 2000 and the title passed to his eldest son Desmond. Desmond has one son (Philip) who will one day hopefully succeed him, but he also has two O'Conor grandsons, two O'Conor half-brothers, a male O'Conor first cousin, and two O'Conor half-nephews. The line and title seem secure.
