Subject: I became very sensitive to the mean-spirited bashing

Especially some of what I heard from supposedly responsible types like Imus, Bill O'Reilly, and the truly nasty Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter and Karen Hughes. For some reason, I was even more offended by the bashing that Hillary got as apposed to what was given to President Clinton. But this joke is not mean-spirited and is funny if you just visualize it.

I think it is important that we accept the fallibility of all our leaders and maintain an ability to laugh at ourselves and at least some of our beliefs. I've always tried to distinquish between political rhetoric or hardcore fanaticism and the heart-felt feelings of the average citizen. Too many people I love and admire among my family and friends are Republicans. I can't just dismiss their deeply held feelings, because that would imply that it is all right for them to dismiss mine. For those that endure my jokes about the Republicans, I try to endure theirs about the Democrats. Both sides are far from perfect.
