Because I receive and send SO MUCH email, I've seen quite a lot of political invective and humor. I don't think I know more than a couple of people who send me such email that I agree with, and I REALLY got sick of the deluge of Clinton bashing. The spring before the last presidential election I finally made an official request to everyone to no longer send me anything political, as I would be deleting it instead of forwarding it, rather than to run the risk of offending anyone during what I could foresee would be a long, bitter campaign. Most of my friends honored this request, possibly without realizing I was probably the one MOST offended! The few occasions I expressed my thoughts the responses were not supportive but argumentative, and one can only survive carefree in the minority so long before learning the wisdom of holding one's tongue!

I doubt I am the only one who has noticed how the amount of
email objecting to "big government" has lessened with the change in administration. For eight long years we heard accusations and slurs about the president of our country, even though a majority of us elected him twice! Clearly a majority did not choose the leadership we have now, yet any slight or criticism of him or his family is considered traitorous, because HE has no history of sexual misbehavior (at least recently that we know about).

I must admit I have relished each and every joke about Dubya
-- and find almost everything about him to BE a joke. I think it is especially short-sighted for our citizenry to buy
into a "declared war" requiring the kind of license to choose
what is best for us without any interference from us! But even if finding no fault with the President or his political party, in fairness how can anyone object to a little "turn-about is fairplay" philosophy in clearly expressing negativity felt every bit as deeply as that of any Clinton hater? And there are still quite a few years of THAT to catch up with, especially since it NEVER seems to end!
