Subject: Have you thought of keeping a battery back-up?

We've set them up for our customers so that they'll switch over automatically even of the power goes out when the customer is away from home. I think most suppliers use a marine type battery that is hooked up to the house electricity so it has a continuously full charge. Some homes in areas where there are consistent power outages combined with high water tables or poor drainage away from the house will put in a double battery system.

You must have had a crawl space rather than a slab if you put a basement under an existing home.
