Subject: Exciting news for my children

A family that adopted my son's birth sister has called to arrange a meeting with us. Their daughter is 5 and my son is 8. The two have both birth parents the same. We met this family 4 years ago and lost touch. I was reluctant to hunt them down because I didn't want them to think I was being pushy, so I let it go. They called us and wanted to get together again.

The family has already emailed us some pictures of my son's sister and her older adopted (not birth related) brother. They are both dolls. She looks so much like my son. The one time they met they were both so little that they don't really remember. They were so drawn to each other even as toddlers it was like they instinctively understood the kinship between them.

I can't wait for them to see each other. I think it is so neat he will have this chance to know one of his birth siblings. My daughter, who did not have the same birth parents as my son, is very excited about this as well. She has at least 2 birth siblings somewhere. I would love for her to be able to find them someday. This little girl is only one of at least 5 birth siblings my son has.
