I tilled the ground, ridding it of grass and weeds, laid down cow manure--get it in bags at your nursery--tilled that into the ground, bought maturing plants from the nursery and the rest is history to this point. Just pick out what you want to and follow the directions on the little marker that is stuck in the plant pot as to how deep to plant each and how far apart.

You might start small this year with a few favorites, just to get the hang of it--like a tomato plant or two, with bell peppers if you like. Zucchini is easy--squash has been a little disappointing over the years. It starts out well, but tends to die out too soon, but I'm sure that's just my ineptness. I buy Miracle Gro to feed occasionally by mixing it with water and dousing the ground with it.

If I can do it, anyone can. I'm known for having a brown thumb ordinarily, so don't even ask me about flowers!!
