Subject: The Stuffed Animal(unfinished)

Mary was a little girl who though had a mother and father was still alone. Her
mother doesn't work, but is involved in many charities and committees.
Dad is a fast-track business type who doesn't have as much time to spend
with
Once upon a time there was a little girl named Mary who had a special stuffed animal. She found it in her room one day and instantly she fell in love with it. Whenever Mary was upset she talked to it and felt much better. Mary told her stuffed animal everything she did and all her dreams. To her this stuffed animal was very special and it listened to her when other didn't
One day Mary was playing on a slide when a woman came up to her. The woman had a sad look on her face even though she smiled. She told Mary, that is a lovely stuffed animal and to take good care of it. Mary had never seen this woman before and really did not pay too much attention. She just went about playing and talking to her stuffed animal.
As she grew older Mary spoke less and less to her stuffed animal. Things in her life were getting busier and she had so many other things to think about. Then one day she just stopped talking to it all together. Mary went out into the world, working hard, meeting people, and living her life. It wasn't that she meant to ignore the stuffed animal, but she figured she'd speak to it tomorrow.
As a woman Mary was pretty happy, decent job, nice boyfriend, living in a well decorated second story apartment. Things were developing nicely for her but then things began to deteriorate. The world that she was happy in seemed to be turning against her. She lost her job and everywhere she looked a new job wasn't available. Then soon after losing her job her boyfriend was getting harder and harder to get along with. Whenever Mary would get upset he would just leave. She wished he'd stay and be close to her, yet he never did. As the weeks went by he called less and less and finally, he broke up with her. As all of this was happening she also noticed that many of her friends were slowly disappearing. They were getting busier with their own lives and had less time to call or come over.
Mary eventually found a small part-time job but still was lonely. It seemed all she did was travel to work then travel home. Everything felt so gray and alone. She wished to speak to someone like she did when she had her stuffed animal. Her stuffed animal she thought, that's who I need. It had been so long that she barely remembered where she left it last. It took her a while to think but she last remembered leaving it in her room at her families home.
She went back to her old house and quickly went up to her old room. Her room was exactly the same as it was when she was a little girl. The same flowered curtains and the same white washed furniture, but the stuffed animal was no where to be seen. She walked downstairs and asked her mother if she'd seen her stuffed animal and her mother wasn't sure what she was talking about. So she went back to her room and started rummaging through everything. She ransacked her closet and went through her drawers, she looked high and low but came up empty. The room now was a total mess, thing were thrown everywhere, she sat down in the middle of it and began to cry.
Weeks past and each day Mary would go to work and come home with little change in her life. As spring began things outside were getting warmer. One day after work Mary decided to walk through the local park. There she saw boys and girls playing games and running around. Some were on the monkey bars and others were swinging on the swings. She was looking at the kids playing when she noticed this small girl alone playing by a large oak tree. For some unknown reason Mary started to walk toward the child's direction. The little girl seemed so familiar to Mary as she watched her sitting on the ground talking. She was about six years old with such an innocent face and light brown hair. Mary wondered who she was talking to and started to get closer. To Mary's amazement there in this little girls arms was her special stuffed animal. Mary watched as the little girl was talking to it, telling the stuffed animal what she did in school today. As Mary watched a tear ran down her cheek. She walked up to the little girl and said, what a lovely stuffed animal. The little girl was startled for a moment and said, thank you. As Mary walked by she said one last thing to the little girl and walked away.
Mary then went back on the main pathway and headed back to her apartment. She thought about the little girl and how she played with the stuffed animal. She realized how important it was in her life. Mary also realized she didn't need the stuffed animal anymore. It was a part of her life when she needed it and now the stuffed animal was important for another person. Mary turned the next corner to her house remembering what she said to the little girl, take care of that and he'll take care of you…GM
