The reasons behind the cancellations were sound, but that's no reason not to give you a refund for the trip. Or at the very least (and i'm saying VERY least) re-route the money towards an alternative trip.

I wish I could help you out, but I know nothing about this, and I'm way up here (points: Canada) And you are way down there (points: America).
