>I mean, when I realized that we were dealing with
>Evil!Faramir, I had to bite my tongue to keep myself
>from screaming "NOOOOOOOO! NOT FARAMIR TOO!" out loud
>in the theater. WHY, PETER?! WHY?! WHY MAKE FARAMIR A
>CLONE OF EVIL!BOROMIR?! Faramir use to be a KIND man!
>He was HOSPITIBALE to the hobbits! And he certainley
>did NOT TAKE THEM TO OSGILIATH! Grrrrrr...

Yeah, I did find that part annoying as well. That was the one thing that annoyed me the most about the movie.

>And WHY the lack of Eomer? I was looking forward to
>ogling him! *pouts* Also, WHY did he threaten to cut
>off Gimli's head when Gimli asked for his name? It USE
>to be because Gimli insulted his intelligence! GOD!

A small thing that I really hadn't thought about, but now that you mention it. . .

>Speaking of Gimli...I was cringing every time he made
>a bad joke. Gimli+Comic Relief=Very Pissed Off Insanity

True, but at least Merry and Pippen wern't as bad as in the first movie.

>The Ents...waaaaaaaay too hasty. Oh yes. I liked their
>portrayal, but they were much too hasty. And
>unreasonable. It took them *that* long to figure out
>that Merry and Pippin weren't orcs? Oi vey...

Yeah, there wasn't much action in their part of the story so I guess they wanted to hurry through it. Sadly you'll lose people's intrest otherwise.

>There was no Shelob, which would have been the perfect
>way to end TTT-a great cliffhanger. But noooooo, we
>must ALWAYS have HAPPY endings...I know a lot of
>movie-fans who are going to be very depressed when
>Frodo sails off to Valinor at the end of RotK.

Yeah, I would have liked Shelob as well. And I think leaving the audience to think Frodo is dead would have been a great ending as well. But people would start to complain about a major character dying in every movie and then coming back the next.

And yeah, I'm guessing there will be some depressed people, the LotR really has a depressing ending in a way.

>Arwen. She didn't need to be there. And the kissing
>scene was too long. And she appeared to much. And
>Elrond scared me. MAKE THEM GO 'WAY!

They had to have her there so people wouldn't forget about her. It's sad but true that the average person would have forgoten about her by the time RotK comes out.

>Aragorn's "Death" Scene: Completley unnecessary.
>Shouldn't have been done. Only used to pull emotions
>from audience and give Liv Tyler more screen time.
>Other than that, this event never should have taken
>place. EVER.

Agreed, the movie really started to give off a "A major character is dead! Oh no! Oh, wait, they're alive. Oh no! Now another major character is dead! Oh wait..." and so forth.

>Rohan. No complaints. ROHAN GOES! ^_^ I liked Theoden

>Elves at Helm's Deep and Theoden's "exorcism": Grrrr.
>Serious "Grrrr" factor there. Just like Aragorn's
>"Death" scene: shouldn't have happened.

Yes. Theoden's "exorcism" was a bit uneeded. And while the Elves at Helm's Deep was in one sense understandable. "They were honoring the Last Allience." and such. On the other hand you have to consider the position of the Elves, that "if this is to be the Age of Men, then let them earn it for themselves."

>So...I think that Jackson deifinitley strayed further

I read somewhere that he said TTT was the one he went furtherst from the books with. *Shurgs* You can't really make a moive like this and satisfy everyone. I mean, I would have watched a four hour movie happily. But the average person wouldn't. New Line bet its life on these movies, and they couldn't let them fail to entice the common person by being too long.
