Surely anyone with a reasonable sense of morality can see that £250,000 is not an accident of circumstances. Everyone has the odd skeleton in their closet, we wouldn't be human if we didn't. But £250,000 of benefits and unpaid tax? That's not a skeleton, that's almost a graveyard. Saying that a crime is OK, just because we are all a little guilty of smaller crimes now and then, is nonsense. This was major fraud. Premeditated and intentional. There is no excuse, and any who sticks up for these people is either criminally minded themselves or brainwashed into forgiving. They may do charity work, they may have helped a lot of people, but they helped themselves too. If "Amused" cannot see the utter greed involved in this case, then I'm afraid that you seriously need to look at your life. It may be spiritual to forgive, but you need to apply this kindness to everyone who commits crime. Are you sure you can do that? People have died because of the austerity measures of the Government, caught in the nets that were set to catch benefit cheats like Tim and Janette. You can blame the Government, perhaps, but by cheating the Abbotts have taken money that was due to people who were actually in need of it.
