Subject: Help Preserve Odebolt history - What's in YOUR attic?

We are very interested in preserving any historical items on Odebolt. Many times these items end up in estate sales, or are thrown out and are lost to the community. Evidence of this is that recently I bought Odebolt items on EBay from Indiana and Cherokee. A man also sent me a special edition of the Chronicle from Oklahoma.

Do you have anything that would be of value in preserving Odebolt's past in your attic or closet that you no longer want or need? Or in your parents' house? Would you be willing to donate it or lend it to be copied?

We are especially interested in:
-1938 "FIFTY YEARS OF PROGRESS edition of the Chronicle - more copies are needed at the library and museum as they are getting so fragile.
-OLD PICTURES - scenes of Odebolt and the Odebolt area, pictures with the people, the buildings or the event identified - old postcards, etc.
-OLD PLATBOOKS or ATLASES/MAPS of the area showing where people lived -the older the better!
-OLD YEARBOOKS - especially 1916
-OLD TELEPHONE BOOKS
-COUNTRY SCHOOLS - pictures, (with people identified if possible), stories, lists of people you remember attending a particular country school
-COOK RANCH/WHEELER RANCH/ADAMS RANCH - pictures, history, booklets
-CLIPPINGS/NEWSPAPERS you have saved
-PERSONAL MEMOIRS, JOURNALS, DIARIES that you think might be useful
-OLD SCRAPBOOKS with pertinent information or photos
-SAC COUNTY HISTORY books

Please post a reply to this message if you have something to share with us. Or email me (Barb). After we are finished with it we will return it to you, or contact the Museum or Library to see if they would want it.

Thanks so much!
