I remember back when toonami first started and they were showing thundercats, i was so excited to see it again, and the first week they played the openeing, but then they all of a sudden switched to the toonami opening and cut the original... WTF!! half of Thundercats IS the opening, it was probably one of the coolest parts of the show, and the Shmegging CUT IT OFF! ARGH!

If i remember correctly the whole toonami opening thing started cause there was one show they had the rights to air, but didnt have the rights to air the openeing. I forgot which show it was. But from there it just kinda caught on.

I mean if they really want to do the openings badly they could show both, sheesh.

In some cases its probably for the better, the funimation opening of DBZ is horrible, and the toonami openings were better for the most part. The mobile suit Gundam opening was cut too, because the original opening would make people run away in fear, its so heinous. So when they cut those thats okay.

But some shows have really good openings like Outlaw Star is one of my favorites, and the 2 Gundam Wing Openings are extremly cool, and animated very well.

Anyways back to adult swim, I loved how they started out, it was pretty much the most ideal showing of Anime on TV i had ever seen. Light censoring, original openings all in tact and a big block. But now Adult swim action seems to be crumbeling away, cutting the openings, and then making it daily, is dumb. They need more new shows, where the heck are GITS and Big O 2.

At least sunday nights still in tact, and they got rid of the oblongs, man i hated that show. AquaTeen Hunger Force and Sea Lab are my favorites, Harveys in Second, and Space Ghost would be higher if they ever made new episodes.
