Subject: I was gonna post a similar message here last night...
In reply to: Soul 's message, "Last Nights RAW should be a wake up call" on 16:59:17 07/09/02 Tue

But somehow forgot to do it.

>RAW last night was ABISMAL.
>1) Never pull double duty again. Last night's idea of
>taking everyone who's already wrestled and bringing
>them back out for a 10 man match was indy leval bad.
>While i liked the idea of a ten man match, it was
>executed badly.

I dunno... I pretty much ALWAYS hate those huge tag matches. What, the tag team division is DEAD and that sort of thing is what the give us?

>2) Quit having the guys contradict each other. First
>The Dudley's say they aren't gonna fight the NWO, then
>Kevin Nash says they are? Since when did Nash become a
>Mcmahon?

Eh, chalk that kind of thing up to poor writing.

>3)Don't even think about bringing back Jackie Geyda.
>Last night proved that she has FAR to long to go to be
>wrestling on RAW. After last night I would have had
>her bags packed with a ticket to Ohio before she even
>got to the curtain. While I like Chris Harvard, I
>think Geyda and that other useless peice of crap
>should be shunted down the developmentals IMMEDIATLY.

LOL.. I nearly fell out of my seat watching that match. God, she is BAD! And people act like she's a mega-babe or something, I don't find her actractive in the least. As for Harvard... the preppy snob gimmick seems like something pulled from early 90's WWF. I think he needs a new gimmick.

>4) Bring over some of the Smackdown Talent. John Cena
>would shine on the RAW roster right now. as would a
>few others.

Hell, thet should end the "brand extension" as far as I'm concerned. I want to see everybody vs. everybody again.

>5) Redo the NWO. Shawn stays as the mouth peice, Show
>stays as the big guy. Nash and x pac should be fired.
>It's obvious Nash can't go anymore (17 seconds!) and
>the only reason X pac hasn't been punked out is
>becasue his big buddies are protecting him (and that
>"neck flare up" last week...yeah right) Eddie Gerrero,
>HHH, and even Deacon Batista would look good in NWO
>colors right now.

Once agian, the NWO shoulda stayed dead IMHO.

>6) Quit sending every developmental to Smackdown. When
>Mike Awesome, Rhyno, Chris Canyon, Kane, and Saturn
>Come back, send them to Raw. Throught in Shawn o Hare
>in that group as well.

Well, Kane is a RAW guy, so I'd assume he'll be on Raw when he gets back. His injury could'nt have happened at a worse time either. He was getting his biggest push ever and was definately getting over with the fans. But I'll agree, the raw roster is a bit thin.

>7)No more Hardy main event pushes. The Jeff
>Hardy/Undertaker matches only served to show that
>Hardy is a punching bag.

I gotta disaggree there. I missed the first taker/jeff match, but really enjoyed the ladder match. I think Jeff is a potential superstar, while Matt is a potential future Marty Jannetty. Of course, winning the Euro title last night puts him right back in the middle of the card.

>8) Quit protecting Bubba Dudely. He's not being
>puched, he's not over, and no one cares. Quit treating
>him like he's getting a world Title shot.

I liked him as Hardcore Champ... he really shouldn't be pushed beyond that level.

>9)Make Chris Benoit your top Face. Or at least one of
>them, put him in with RVD, Booker T and Kane, you've
>got sometrhing to work with.

I really don't think Benoit could get over as top face. He'd a bit lacking on the charisma scale. As A face, sure. but not top face.

>10) Fire Brian Gerwitz. This is the head writer for
>RAW, he reads comic books when he should be booking a
>show. Fire Him.

AMEN.

>11)Either give Ric Flair someone to fight or Retire
>his ass. Steven Richards is not a quality oppponent.
>This guy needs someone to fued with not named Gerrero

Ditto. He's actully still capable of good matches, but even he'll admit he's not what he used to be. They just need to find the right oppenents for him.

>12) Try something different and innovative some night.
>A royal rumble, War Games, Batle Bowl. SOMETHING!

Hot dog eating contest!

>13) Have a good ole fashions 45 minute to one hour
>match. While no one on the Raw Roster could pull it
>off right yet. Nothing gets more attention then a
>singles match that last for an hour of action.
>Steamboat/Flair matches are still regarded as the best
>of all time and the Flair/Sting match for Clash 1 made
>Sting a legend. Think about it.

Yeah, but they've gotta worry about keeping a public with the attention span of a chipmunk entertained. They'd REALLY have to make it interesting.

>14) do some long term booking. We saw what happened
>last night when Nash didn't even know he was gonna
>wrestle till he arrived at the building. Booking on
>the fly didn't work for WCW, it's not gonna work for
>the WWF.

Too true. They don't seem to realize they've gotta put some thought into this stuff.

>15) No more long rambling inane interveiws. When the
>guy who screamed "Get to the Point!" from the crowd
>gets talked about more then anything said on the whole
>show. It's not a good thing.

WHAT.... WHAT.... WHAT...

Heh... you're reading my mind with that one. I used to get pissed when HHH was champ and every raw would start out with 20minutes to half an hour devoted to HHH saying "I AM THE GAME-AH!.... I AM THAT DAMN GOOD-AH...." etc.

>16) Kill the European Title. I didn't even know Regal
>had the title untill he lost it last night! The
>Hardcore Title has eclipsed this useless peice of tin.

Yep. There have been too many titles for the last few years, IMHO. They might wanna consider going back to just the old Tag team, Intercontinental, and World title like the old days. Fewer titles would make the ones they do have seem more important.

>17) None of these 30 second matches. Come on, who
>seriously sits down and pays attention to these.

I wouldn't mind seeing HHH get squashed in a 30 sec match sometime...

>18) No more "guy chases person to the back" spots.
>They did this 2 Times last night...a sign of writers
>block.

Or how about "hardcore match that starts in the ring and ends up in back"?

Yep, last nights show was pretty damn bad no matter how ya slice it.
