okay, so I have both E1 mace windu toys. the preview version rocks, it's wise elder mace and he looks good standing around doing nothing.
the carded version is craptacular by comparison: no cloak(well, he has that shell thing), and while he's got an elbow swivel, he doesn't look so good in action.

then there's this new mace, who looks fun as hell, and has a great badass grin on his face. damn, I'll have to get him, and at ten bucks, that's almost twice as much as a normal figure!
but then there's ANOTHER mace coming, and that one has saber slash action and a wierd 'thunder thunder thunder thundercats, hooooooooooo!!!' yell expression on his face, like he's swinging into battle and/or got lil mace caught in his zipper.
but he looks AWESOME posed charging into battle.

so I'll end up with four mace windus, three which look good in one pose, one which looks bad in all poses, and none of them ninja-posable like zam, or a GIJoe, which, ultimately, is what I'm looking for in a Jedi toy. fully posable. like, ball shoulders, swivel arm battle grip, hinged elbow, and rotating wrist, angled outward somewhat so the sword points out and not straight up.

so I'll have to pick up the preview mace and start to work on super-posable mace. he'll go with superposable Plo Koon, which will be made of the E1 figure: put that head and those forearms onto a new Joe body, add a big cloth cloak, or a ponch or whatever. forget accuracy, I don't care! he's gonna die anyways. and the 2 figures have totally different bodies anyhow.
I was thinking about buying a 2nd coruscant chase Ewan to swap arms and give him two swivel arms, swapping over the magnet hand, but the sleeve isn't sculpted as symmetrically as I'd like. damn. I think the upcoming pilot ewan has a better right arm, so we'll see on that as it happens.
upcoming jango w/flamethrower has ball jointed knees! so that'll be good. picked up no-helmet jango, I'll have to swap that right arm onto flaming jango so he has grapple AND flamethrower.

stupid buying a half dozen interpretations of a character to make an absolutely fully posable version... I was going to make a Jar Jar with insane posability, but I never found the swimming jar jar w/ankle joints and ball neck. so I gave up.

bought 2 no-helmet vaders, swapped the arms so he had two swivel arms. first good star wars custom job!
