That less than great stuff reminds me a bit of those websites you stumble across when you're up at 3 am and bored out of your mind. You know, those ones that are like "Here's a picture of me. Here's a picture of my cat. Here's a picture of me with my cat." And that's the site in it's entirety. Y'know, nothing wrong as a first attempt, but not really anything that seems ready for everyone to see. I dunno. I guess I'd just expect more since such a big deal is made about Custom Con. I guess it doesn't help when some of the other customs shown there are gorgeous.

At any rate, your explanation does make sense. It's meant as a way for customizers to get their stuff shown and that's exactly what they're doing.
