Saw the game at Alumni Hall today ... officiating in the 1st half was atrocious! Flannery got a well-deserved technical for arguing a BS (one of many) calls. However, the Bison clearly pulled away from Navy 7 minutes or so into the 1st Half.

I completely agree with BUFan -- Vegotsky was impressive. Absolutely on fire. In the 2nd half, Flannery tooled around with a great lineup of McNaughton, Bettencourt, Vegotsky, Badmus, and Lee. Mastropaolo was ineffective.

Bettencourt was better than his stats lead one to believe and I was also impressed with the guts and effort of Griffin. He plays his heart out on the hardwood. I swear I was there, but I am not sure why Tarik didn't get the minutes once McNaughton was benched after the first two minutes of the game.

All in all, ugly start of the game, but the "team" in teamwork was on display and was great to witness.

Didn't bother asking Pat about Tarik in postgame, but I would venture a guess that his limited minutes were more or less the result of the matchups. Navy played four guards a lot, so Pat could go with Mastropaolo and Brown up front when McNaughton sat in the first half.

Brown gave them a more athletic, quicker guy to guard Greg Sprink. Between him and Charles Lee, they held Sprink to 3 points (1-7 from the field, 0-4 on 3s).

In the second half, McNaughton avoided further foul trouble, and he and Mastropaolo split a lot of the minutes at the 5.
