I noticed that most preseason publications have Bucknell 3rd for the upcoming season, behind Gate and Fordham. Thoughts? Is Bucknell ready to contend? Once Landis gets his athletes recruited, Bucknell will be difficult to prepare for during League play.

The League will be tough, but no one will be unbeatable, including Colgate, Lehigh and Fordham.

The Crusaders will put some points on the board, but will give up lots. They'll be the antithesis of Bucknell. If Bucknell's spread option is clicking, their time of possession could be a problem for opponents. Furthermore, their defense appears to be in good shape -- particularly the LB and DB corps. I see that the Bison have a couple of tough OOC games this year -- Nova on the road and Penn at home.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of our teams take on D1 weaklings like Buffalo and Army. Of course, after our success, these guys aren't likely to schedule anymore! I believe Colgate is definetly the team to beat until beaten. Branch is going to have some big, big games this year.

Author: KenZ [ Edit | View ] Date Posted: 15:55:04 07/02/04 Fri read that 'Nova is a two year contract, presumably they visit us next year. i am generally just as happy with a quality 1-AA team as a weak 1-A on the schedule and 'Nova is an excellent choice for us particularly if we get a reurn game. i find football difficult to predict in general and success of individual recruits particularly difficult. having said that, i get the distinct impression there are some very good prospects in the freshman class particularly on the line. i'd gues more consistently competitve this year, but not ready to challenge for the title. will be happy to be proven wrong.

Under the Landis offense, alot of talented could come to Bucknell because they don't fit the traditional drop passer roll of a West Coast offense or Pro Style set.....Wilson is a good example. He'll thrive this year in the system and under Coach Gadd his big moment of the year would have been senior day. I was upset that Stallworth got no pro looks at all...........
