Wow our boys need to really wake up the 2nd half. 1:30 left and Santa Clara is up 33-20. 10+ turnovers in the first half and the Bison are out of rhythm. Unbelievable horrible play by these guys. Lets go bison!

Creeping back, but still making too many mistakes. Down by six with 13 minutes left.

This team's offense comes from its defense, and it never got going tonight.

Way too many turnovers. Santa Clara shooting 62% from the field. We can't just get into sync. Come on guys!

these games happen. that's why i get worried about nearly every game. what matters now is how the team reacts, and they have recovered quite nicely in the past.

on the plus side, now that the current streak has ended, i can change my socks again.

Kansas, Syracuse and DePaul are not that great. Villanova beat BU handily at home. Maybe they're just not as good as all the hype? The class of the Patriot League, for sure. But not quite ready for prime time, perhaps.

and Pittsburgh and St. Joe's........

yeah, they are a very good team, in the top 40 of the country. I don't care who you are however, KenZ is on to something. You can't play a full schedule with 16 road games and win everytime out.

Let's put this into perspective. Santa Clara was in their time zone and on their own court. While it was the 2nd game in in 24 hours for boht clubs, Santa Clara played a winless UC Riverside and Bucknell played a fiesty, battle tested Boston U.

Look for Bucknell to rest, focus, and give Duke a nice game. A blow out would, quite frankly, shock me. McNaughton will operate and get his 20 against Duke. Can Badmus step up and control the game? Can Lee and Bettencourt function against superior athletes at guard? (They can't against Villanova).....

If the backcourt can play even a little Bucknell basketball, it will be a nice game. If they run and gun and let Reddick control the tempo, good night.

Let's not read too much into this. Santa Clara is a good team and we had to travel cross-country to play on their home court. The effects of playing back to back nights after a long flight probably made the Bison a little sluggish. Let's not forget that this Santa Clara team knocked off the national champions last year. When the schedule came out, I looked at this game as a probable loss. Granted I also thought Cuse and Niagara would be probable losses too.

The Bison will be fine. Even great teams lose some "bad" games. I don't think their is a Bucknell fan out there who would have been disappointed coming into the season if they were told that the Bison would be 9-2 heading down to Duke.

Hopefully some positives will be taken from this loss. It may serve as a little bit of a reality check and will remind the Bison that they can be beaten on any given night by any team. Hopefully it will keep them more focused coming into games against lesser opponents as league play starts. Also, it will make them come out with a chip on their shoulder at Duke. If the Bison pull off that shocker, nobody will ever remember this game! That being said, it looks like the Bison will enter league play on a 2 game losing streak. However, they will hopefully follow that up by running the table at least through Bracket Buster Saturday when they will likely have to travel to a place like Nevada.

While losing at Santa Clara hurts and may hurt the Bison come tourney time, it should in no way take away from the team's accomplishments and should not cause panic. If the Bison lose no more than 3 more games the rest of the regular season and can at least give the Dukies a scare, then I think they can still get an at-large bid.

Let's take down the Dukies!!!
