Hi suzanne , hope you totally enjoyed your vacation !
It sounds to me Vagabond went through a molt , when you say he was a puff ball and now sleek and slender. I wouldn't worry to much now about the tiny poops if he is back to normal now. The dandelions might of done the trick. Dandelions are high in vitamin A and one a day is good. I know alot of ppl use papaya tablets to prevent fur block and also pineapple (fresh). The papaya tablets would probably be easier to keep around instead of fresh pineapple. I don't know what to tell you about getting him to eat his hay except try changing brands and see if it works.
I have known of a few bunnies that ppl had and didn't even know bunnies needed hay and they were never fed hay ! I don't recommend that though !!
I have been searching through some great web sites to try and find a answer for you on the age but have come up with nothing to help :(
The whistle noise , if he's not having any difficulty in breathing I would think he's fine also..I know I'm not a lot of help here but I can't find info. on the last 2 questions...
