Subject: can rabbits give my family impetigo

When i told my sister in law and mother in law that I was going to be getting a bunny they were totally againist it my sister in law said everytime her sons would get around the their buns that they would wind up getting impetigo. Is this something that is commen I told her that I didn't see why the buns would have impetigo if they were kept clean and out of their poop but since she told me that I have been woried Have any of you had to deal with this? I have also heard that buns are very clean animals but they keep saying that their so dirty
