Author: Kurt Angle challenging Jesse Hart
Subject: World Championship
In reply to: Live from Columbus, Ohio 's message, "King of the Ring 2004" on 22:37:05 07/12/04 Mon

The fans attention is turned to the big screen as a video on the history of Kurt Angle and Jesse Hart is shown. It starts off with clips of Angle in the Olympics where he defied all of the odds and captured the gold medal with a broken neck – the United States first and only ever gold medal in the heavyweight weight class of Olympic wrestling. The video then switches pace and we see early clips of Kurt’s professional wrestling days, and highlights of his classic matches with Chris Benoit, and his two Intercontinental Championship victories.

It then switches to highlights of Jesse Hart’s roles in such movies as Pitch Black, The Fast and the Furious, xXx, and the Chronicles of Riddick, as well as many celebrity appearances. Hart’s UCW debut is shown as he attacked his father as a member of the New World Order, followed up by clips of his many black and green promos from his first few months, all leading us to his first official match where he defeated Kurt Angle for the Intercontinental Championship.

Their roads then took separate turns as Hart went on to leave the New World Order and become one of the biggest stars in sports AND entertainment, and Angle went on to prove to the world that he is the best that the business has to offer. Highlights of both men’s respective Undisputed Championship victories are shown, and then the formations of Team Angle and Team Canada.

“Broken” by Seether and featuring Amy Lee then begins to play as the turns of last October are shown where Jesse Hart and Athene concocted a devious scheme to take out Lance Storm in order for Hart himself to challenge Kurt Angle for the World Championship, and break his neck in the process of taking it.

We then switch back and forth from Angle’s months of surgery and recovery period to Hart’s successful months as World Champion where everything was going his way. Finally, at the Royal Rumble 2004, after losing the World Championship to Brock Lesnar, Hart found himself as one of the final two combatants in the Rumble, along with none other than the returning Kurt Angle himself.

The highlights of their classic and breath-taking last few minutes of quite possibly the most entertaining Royal Rumble in the history is shown where Jesse Hart overcame Angle, eliminating him from the match, and then moving on to WrestleMania to challenge Lesnar.

We then switch gears and go to WrestleMania where Hart once again shocked the world by forming the era of Hart/McMahon, once again capturing the World Championship. Angle’s victory over Lance Storm in the submission match is shown, all leading to tonight’s colossal encounter where Kurt Angle will finally get his rematch for the World Championship against the man who stole not only the title from him, but months of his life – Jesse Hart.

We now go to ringside where Bridget Carter stands in the middle of the ring, mic in hand.

Bridget: Ladies and Gentlemen, the time has come… the long-anticipated rematch is upon us – Columbus, Ohio, it is now time for our MAIIIIIIIIIIN EVENT!

~The crowd goes wild, cheering loudly!~

Bridget: This match is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the WOOOORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! Introducing first, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is a two-time World Champion, he is the only Olympic Gold medalist in professional wrestling’s history… he is KURT AAAAAAAAAAAAANGLEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

“I Don’t Suck!” blasts over the speakers, and the fans simply EXPLODE as the number one contender appears, Kurt Angle! He’s wearing his old “Team Angle” track coat, with the hood over his head as he stops near the top of the stage. Kurt then throws his arms up above his head in synchronized timing with his pyros that blare up from behind him! He now makes his way to ringside and enters the ring, spinning with his arms out to his sides, his gold medals twirling around his neck. He removes the track coat and hands it off along with his gold medals, and then climbs the second ropes, holding his arms up above his head as the fans cheer loudly!

Bridget: And now, introducing his opponent, hailing from Calgary, Alberta… Canada, he is known world wide as a Hollywood action star, but more importantly he is known as a three-time and current World Champion. Accompanied to the ring by Smackdown! acting General Manager Stephanie McMahon, ladies and gentlemen, he is JESSE… HART!

The lights in the arena flicker on and off as the opening drumming to Dope’s “Debonaire” begins to pound over the speakers. As the tempo of the song increases, pyros explode from all around the big screen and the entrance area is filled with smoke, and a few moments later, through the smoke appears the World Champion, Jesse Hart himself!

The crowd immediately fills the arena with boos as he steps out with the championship strapped firmly across his waist, and a few moments after that, he’s joined by the incomparable Stephanie McMahon!

The two now make their way to ringside, with Hart staring in at Angle the entire way. Stephanie walks up the ring steps and sits on the middle ropes, holding them open for the champion who slides onto the apron on his knees before entering the ring, followed by Steph, who is staring over at Angle.

Kurt and Jesse meet in the middle of the ring, butting heads as the intensity is just fuming out of each man. As Jax and DDP comment on how Stephanie will be the difference maker of this match, the arena is filled with an all too familiar theme that hasn’t been heard in a very long time as…

Here Cooooomes The Mooooooooneeeeeeeeeeeeey…

Here We Go… Money Talks…

Here Coooooomes The Moooooooooneeeeeeeeeeey!

… A spotlight flashes on the owner’s box, and the crowd goes WILD as the camera does a close-up, revealing SD! owner Shane McMahon on the big screen, standing next to his father and Raw owner, Vince himself! Shane has an ear to ear smirk spread across his face as he does a throat slash, signaling for his music to be cut, and then pulls a mic up to his lips to speak.

Shane: Well, well, well… look at this… Shane-O-Mac is BACK, Jacks! And what do I see here? The era of “McMahon/Hart?” Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie… dear sister of mine… just what in the HELL are you thinking?!

Kurt and Jesse back away from one another, looking up at Shane as he speaks. Stephanie stands with both of her hands on her hips, setting her jaw as she looks up to her brother and father.

Shane: Now Stephanie, despite Kurt’s warnings, you still decided to stick your pointy little chin where it doesn’t belong, but one thing that you may have forgotten is that while you ARE the General Manager, I’M still running the show! And I’ve been looking forward to this rematch for FAR too long to have you disrupt it, and I won’t HAVE IT! So Stephanie, come and join us up here and have a seat, and prepare to witness one of the greatest matches in Smackdown!, make that UCW, history!

The crowd cheers loudly as Stephanie has been banned from ringside, and she glares up at her brother, seething! Kurt nods his head, mouthing “You’re mine” over at Jesse as the champion looks back and forth, being caught off guard!

Shane: And just to make things clear, not only is Stephanie banned from ringside, EVERYONE is banned from ringside, Smackdown and Raw alike!

Vince stands up, taking the mic himself.

Vince: As the owner of Brand Raw and the creative genius behind sports entertainment, I as well am looking forward to seeing how Smackdown’s big main event can compare to my Raw. So in that same token, if I even SMELL any of my employees near this match, you’ll be fired so fast that your head will spin!

Shane: Mike Chioda, ring that bell!

Chioda obliges, signaling for the bell, and making sure that Stephanie leaves ringside! Stephanie is simply FUMING as she makes her way back up the ramp, clenching her fists and glaring up at Shane as she disappears to the back, and this highly anticipated match is officially underway!

Hart is shaking his head, gripping the championship in his hand, refusing to let it go as Chioda tugs at it, telling him to fight! Angle now comes forward, blasting Hart with a right hand, and Chioda comes away with the belt, raising it above his head as the fans cheer wildly, showing them what’s on the line!

Jesse stumbles back into a corner and Kurt is right on him, working him over with right hands before firing him across HARD back first into the corner! Jesse hits with such force that he comes rebounding out of the corner and right into an over the head belly-to-belly suplex! He lands hard on his tail bone and rolls back into the far corner as Kurt pops right back up to his feet, stalking in after him!

As Kurt approaches, Jesse grabs him by the waistband and pulls him chest first into the corner. The champion then begins to ram repeated shoulder blocks into the small of Angle’s back, trying to take this match over. Hart then turns him around and meets him with a right hand between the eyes, dazing the challenger. Jesse leans him against the ropes and whips him across, but Angle rebounds off the ropes with a flying forearm, taking Hart down to his back! As soon as the champion rebounds up to his feet, Kurt ducks around him with a German suplex!

The crowd pops as Kurt holds on, taking Jesse over with a second as his eyes go wide and his arms flail about in the air! As Kurt goes for the trifecta, Jesse throws a few back elbows back, breaking Kurt’s grip. As Angle shakes his head out, Jesse ignores the pain in his back and comes charging off the ropes, but Angle goes low with a rolling leg lock, immediately snatching onto Hart’s ankle with the Angle Lock!!

The crowd goes BALLISTIC as Jesse’s head bobs up and down, screaming out in pain! He immediately pushes up on his arms and then rolls forward, sending Kurt crashing chest first into the corner! Kurt takes a deep breath as he rebounds out, going for a wild lariat, but Hart ducks it and hooks the challenger, DRIVING him into the mat with a Full Nelson Slam! Hart immediately drops down for the cover, but Angle is out at the count of two!

Hart now mounts Angle, clutching his head with his left hand and begins to drill him with repeated right hands as Chioda counts to five to break it up! Jesse now pulls Kurt up by the head and twists his neck, driving him into the mat with a quick spinning neck breaker! Kurt immediately clutches his head as his legs kick the mat in pain, and Hart is right on him now, jamming his forearm to Kurt’s chin as he lays across him for another cover, twisting his neck, but Angle rolls out at the count of two.

As Kurt rolls over onto his stomach, refusing to remain on his back, Hart rams a knee into his spine and pulls on Kurt’s neck with a vicious chin lock, stretching out the often injured body part as much as he can. The crowd now begins to chant “LET’S GO ANGLE! LET’S GO ANGLE” as Hart pulls back on his neck, telling these Columbus fans to “Shut Th’Fuck up!” Kurt now begins to battle to his knees, so Jesse rolls over onto his back, pulling Kurt onto him now with a blatant choke! Chioda begins the mandatory 5 count, but he stops at two and begins to count Hart’s shoulder down on the mat!

Jesse immediately releases Angle at the two count, yelling at Chioda! After a few moments of arguing with the official, Hart pulls Angle up and leans him against the ropes, but Kurt reverses the Irish whip and catches Jesse with a HUGE spinning spine buster as he returns, and then follows it up by stepping through and rolling the champion over into the Sharpshooter!!

The crowd is screaming wildly as Hart pounds the mat in pain from his very own submission hold! However, Jesse steals a page out of Angle’s book and pushes up with one arm and latches onto Kurt’s ankle with the other, and then he rolls forward, escaping the dreaded Sharpshooter, and locks Angle himself into the ankle lock!

Now it’s Kurt’s turn to scream out in pain as Hart twists his ankle into submission, but Kurt refuses to give up and makes it to the ropes, and Jesse is forced to break the hold at the count of five – but he doesn’t. Rather, he drags Kurt into the middle of the ring and steps through, turning him over into the Sharpshooter! The crowd now once again gets behind Angle, cheering him on as he fights and claws his way back to the ropes, and Chioda calls for the break once more, but Jesse refuses to let up!

Chioda now uses his power and threatens to strip Hart of the World Championship, and THAT causes him to release the hold! Hart is simply seething, eyeballing the official before making his way up to the top rope, measuring Angle. He pauses before flying off with the Hart Attack and goes at it with the fans, which allows Angle the time to do a backwards roll and run right up the ropes, taking the champion off the top with a belly-to-belly suplex and DRIVING him into the mat to a HUGE pop from the crowd! Kurt crawls over and hooks the leg, and Chioda drops down to count the one, two, TWO!

Jesse rolls his shoulder up at the two count, saving his championship! Kurt shakes his head out and rubs his lower back, still feeling the effects of the Sharpshooter. He now pulls Jesse up and drills him with a right hand, leaning him in a corner. Hart, however, reverses the Irish whip and goes to fire Angle across, but Kurt holds on, reversing the reverse, and whips Jesse HARD sternum first into the corner pads! Hart crumbles in the corner and crawls out of it using the ropes, breathing heavily. As he struggles to pull himself up, Kurt charges towards him with a lariat, but Jesse sidesteps him and tosses Kurt over to the top rope and to the floor!

Jesse uses this time to recover and catch his breath as Kurt pulls himself together on the outside. As Chioda reaches the count of six, his eyes go wide as Jesse comes tearing in from behind him, and the champion makes a diving head first leap over the top ropes, clearing them with ease and crashes onto the challenger on the floor! The crowd pops for the high-flying move as both men lay down and out! The fans then begin to chant “U.C. DUB” as Jesse is the first man to his feet, making his way back onto the apron.

Angle follows Hart up, grabbing onto his foot. Jesse, standing on the apron with Kurt on the floor, tries to kick his leg out in order to free himself, but Kurt uses Jesse’s waistband to pull himself onto the apron behind the champion, hooking his waist and going for a German! Hart’s eyes bug out of his head as he holds onto the top ropes for dear life, shaking his head “NO!” repeatedly as Kurt keeps attempting to German him to the floor! The crowd is electric as Angle persists and persists, but Hart finally breaks it up with a mule kick between the challenger’s legs to a round of boos from the fans!

Kurt now drops off the apron and falls armpit first into the barricade, his knees knocked together and his eyes wide. Jesse takes a look back at Angle and springs up onto the middle ropes, coming off of them with a twisting cross body, but this time Kurt dives out of the way and Jesse goes stomach first onto the barricade!!

The crowd cheers loudly as the champion misses his target, and then they pop even more as he remains hanging over the barricade, and Kurt hooks him from behind, taking him off of the barricade and DEEP into the outside mats with a release German suplex! Hart rolls over onto his stomach after the fact, gripping the back of his head in pain as Kurt pulls himself, and the champion up, rolling him back into the ring, and moving in for the kill!

As Jesse lays down and out in the ring, seeing stars, Kurt makes his way up to the top rope, setting his feet for a moonsault! However, having Angle well scouted, Jesse bolts up to his feet and stumbles into the corner, turning away from Angle and lifts him onto his shoulders, going to powerbomb him off the top! The fans gasp at the upcoming move, but as soon as Hart begins to take Angle over, Kurt reverses it into a hurricanrana and reaches back, hooking a leg for the one, two, TWO!

The crowd “ooooh’s” as Hart kicks out at the last possible second, and this back and forth match will continue! Kurt shakes his head, mouthing “shit!” as the champion kicks out. He pulls Jesse up and meets him with a right hand, but Hart fires back with one of his own. Kurt stops the back and forth right there with a high knee-lift to the mid section and leans the champion against the ropes; however, Hart reverses the Irish whip and pulls Kurt into a side Russian Leg Sweep, but before he can drive Angle into the mat, Kurt ducks low and lifts the champion with the Olympic Slam!

The crowd pops for the counter, but Hart floats over and lands on his feet behind the challenger. Kurt then turns on a dime and comes forward with a falling clothesline attempt, but Hart ducks it, sets his feet, and as soon as Kurt turns around, he BLASTS him with a sickening Hart Stomp! Angle immediately drops down to his back like a falling tree, and Jesse dives onto him, hooking the leg for the one, two, TWO!

The crowd goes INSANE as Kurt rolls his shoulder out at 2.9999! Jesse can’t believe it and his face turns bright red, now hooking BOTH of Kurt’s legs, but Angle kicks out again! Hart is now up to his feet, gripping Chioda by the shirt, screaming at him that it was a three! He then releases the official and kicks the bottom rope, completely losing his cool!

He now finally makes his way back over to Kurt, pulling him up by the head and meets him with a right hand between the eyes. Kurt falls backwards and into the ropes, and he rebounds back out with a stinging right of his own! The champion fires back with another one, and as Kurt comes back with the receipt, Jesse ducks it and hoists him up for the Owen Driver!

Kurt’s legs flail while he’s hanging upside down, and he floats over, reversing the hold! The champion, however, immediately reverses the reverse, but just before he can jam Angle into the mat with the Inverted Tombstone Piledriver, Angle floats over and goes low, lifting and JAMMING Hart into the mat with the Olympic Slam!! The crowd is going WILD as Kurt rolls over onto the champion, hooking the leg for the inevitable one, two, three!

No! TWO! Hart kicks out to the shock of the world! The crowd gasps, and then they BOOM with boos as Angle grips his head, now going red faced himself in complete shock! As Hart rolls around on the mat, trying to revive himself, Kurt pulls himself up and he PULLS DOWN THE STRAPS, jumping up and down behind the champion as the fans go wild! He moves in and latches onto Jesse’s ankle with the Angle Lock, twisting it out of shape!

Jesse quickly rolls over onto his back, and out of instinct, he kicks Kurt right in the mouth, dropping him to his back. However, Kurt keeps a hold of his foot and rolls through, and right back up to his feet as the fans cheer loudly! Hart now pushes up and does a frontwards roll, trying to break the hold this way again, but Kurt simply rolls right through it and right back up to his feet, relentlessly twisting on the champion’s ankle!

Hart is absolutely SCREAMING out in pain, shaking his head “NO” wildly as Chioda asks him if he gives up, with Kurt screaming “Tap Out” in the background! Jesse digs his fingernails into the mat, crawling towards the ropes, and he finally makes them, and the official calls for the break, saving the championship!

As Kurt uses the full five-second break count, Jesse uses the ropes to pull himself up, hopping on one leg. Kurt, however, rather than break the hold, pulls Hart away from the ropes while hopping on one leg! In desperation, Hart now turns and leaps up with an enzaguri, but Angle ducks the kick and drops down to his ass, locking Hart’s leg in a leg scissors as he twists on the ankle, leaving the champion with nowhere to go!

The entire arena is electric as they can sense what is going to happen as Jesse grips the back of his head, SCREAMING out in pain as he buries his head into the mat! Finally, after a few moments, he lifts his hand up above the mat, and it teeters there as the fans anxiously await the tap out, but he refuses to do so! Kurt now REALLY twists on the ankle, causing Hart’s head to lift right up off the mat as he SCREAMS out loudly, tapping the mat furiously six or seven times in a row, awarding the championship to Angle!!

“I Don’t Suck!” blasts over the speakers, and Bridget Carter gloatingly announces Kurt Angle as the NEEEEEEEEEW WOOOOOOOOORLD CHAAAAAAAAAMPIOOOOOOOON!!!!

Angle releases the hold, popping up to his feet and spins with a “WOOOOOO!” He is then handed the championship and he falls to his knees, clutching it to his chest as his eyes begin to water! He then pops right back up to his feet, spinning once more with the championship before climbing the ropes, raising it above his head proudly, kissing the championship repeatedly!

Meanwhile, Hart rolls to the outside and leans his back against the barricade, gripping his ankle in a tremendous amount of pain, hatred covering his face as he looks into the ring at Angle.

Nat Taylor, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin then make their way down the ramp and into the ring, celebrating with Angle! Nat leaps towards Kurt, wrapping her arms around his neck in a huge hug, and she is then joined by Charlie and Shelton in a group hug!

The Tag Team Champions then hoist Angle onto their shoulders to the cheers from the fans, and Kurt pumps the championship up above his head proudly, celebrating this great night as Hart remains on the outside, refusing medical attention, and simply glares into the ring, watching the celebration as the 2004 King of the Ring comes to a close!
