“You Think You Know Me… You Think You Know Me…”







The crowd begins to boo as “Metallingus” plays over the speakers, bringing out the former United States Champion, Edge!









“Whatever” blasts over the speakers as a lead into the arrival of Chris Benoit! The Wolverine makes his way down the ramp and into the ring, going right at Edge and begins to hammer away with right hands!


Edge fires back with a few right hands of his own, but Benoit breaks it up with a scintillating chop to the chest! Edge goes stumbling into the ropes, covering up as Benoit fires away with a few more chops before firing him across, dropping him with a double forearm shot to the chest. Edge rebounds right back up to his feet, and Benoit kicks him in the gut and takes him over with a snap suplex, covering for a two count.

Right back on their feet, Benoit is the aggressor with two more chops to the chest before going around him with a HUGE German suplex! He holds on and rolls through, connecting with a second, a third, a fourth, and then a fifth before finally releasing him! Chris Benoit is on a tear after being screwed out of the World Championship last week! He looks down to Edge, and then out to the crowd and gives the throat slash signal! He goes directly up to the top rope and places his arms out to his side, sailing off with a Swandive head butt, but Edge rolls out of the way!

Benoit’s head rebounds off the mat and he rolls around, kicking the mat in pain. Edge pulls him up and into a right hand, going to fire him across but holds on, pulling him into a side Russian leg sweep and covers for a two count. He pulls the Crippler back up and goes to take him over with a snap suplex, but Benoit floats over and lands on his feet, going for another German! However, out of the ref’s view, Edge connects with a mule kick that stuns the Wolverine! As Benoit hunches over from the blow, Edge grabs him by the trunks and lifts him off the mat, JAMMING him into it head first with the Edgecution DDT! Edge covers for the one… two… THREE!

NO! Benoit gets his foot on the bottom rope! As soon as Edge realizes what has happened, he begins to pull at his hair in a rage! He bolts up to his feet and kicks at the bottom rope, going as far as to punch himself in the head over not hooking the leg!

Meanwhile, Benoit pulls himself up in a corner, shaking his head out. Edge hurries over and begins to hammer away with right hands. He pulls Benoit up into a suplex position and seats him on the top rope. He now climbs up after him, trying to set him up for a Superplex, but the Rabid Wolverine begins to battle back with a series of vicious head butts! Edge has finally taken enough of them and goes crashing down to the mat, laid out and beginning to poor blood from his nose! Benoit now sets his feet on the top and flies off, connecting dead to rights this time with the head butt!

His body rebounds off the mat and away from Edge’s as the latter quivers on the mat. Benoit now pulls himself together and makes his way over for the cover, but the fans begin to make some noise as…













… Carlito “Caribbean” Cool hurries down the ramp and climbs onto the apron. However, as soon as he does so, Benoit goes over and drops him to the floor with a running double forearm shot to the chest!


Edge now comes up behind Benoit, trying to take him over with a back suplex, but the Crippler does a full flip and lands on his feet, grabbing Edge’s arm and takes him down onto the mat with the Crippler Crossface to a HUGE pop from the crowd!

Carlito climbs back onto the apron, and Benoit quickly releases Edge, dropping the rookie to the floor one more time to another pop from the crowd! However, this time, as soon as Benoit turns around, Edge kicks him in the gut and lifts him off the mat once more, crunching back down head first with the second Edgecution of the night! Edge now hooks BOTH legs as the ref counts the one, two, THREE!


“Metallingus” plays back over the speakers as Edge rolls to the outside, victorious against Chris Benoit!
