Adonis Jordan is in fact the twenty-first entrant, but we’re still left with Randy Orton and Dave Batista as the only two men standing. Orton finally throws a right hand that connects with Batista’s jaw, but the Demon hits himself in the head and calls for another. Orton obliges and drills him once more, but Batista stands firm! Orton seems to now have run out of options, but he soon breaks out into a grin as Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Edge, Christian, Rey Mysterio, and Adonis Jordan all pull themselves up, circling Batista. Even Eddie Guerrero pulls himself up, and Batista is left standing in the middle of them all. The crowd then begins the first ever chant of…


“BATISTA! BATISTA! BATISTA! BATISTA! BATISTA! BATISTA! BATISTA!”


He looks from one man to the other and then decides to hit first, doubling Edge and Christian over with a double clothesline! He then punts Eddie in the gut and runs Rey over before grabbing Orton with a double handed choke! Adonis Jordan jumps on Batista’s back, but Batista flips him right over and onto the mat! However, Batista is then taken over by a HUGE Chris Benoit German suplex! Angle now joins in, and he takes the Demon over with a German of his own, crunching him into the mat! Orton waves them all off, getting into a low crouch and waiting for Batista to stand, and as soon as he does so, Randy comes in and leaps into the air, cradling his head and brings him CRASHING down into the mat with an RKO!

The crowd begins to boo loudly as Batista is laid out on the mat. Benoit and Angle, once again trying to work together, muscle Batista up and attempt to eliminate him, but the arrogant Orton double crosses them and grabs them by the heads from behind, trying to toss them both out! Angle and Benoit stand firm and Randy falls to his ass, quickly shooting to his knees and looks up at them with his eyes wide, holding his hands up and begging off! Angle kicks Orton in the chest and Benoit pulls him up, shoving him into a corner and begins to chop the hell out of him! Chop! Chop! Chop! Chop! Chop! Angle grabs Benoit by the head, pulling him out of the corner and takes his place, drilling Randy with repeated right hands! Benoit now grabs Angle, spinning him around, but Kurt takes his legs out from under him and slams him to his back, and they roll around the ring, pounding away at one another!

The Authority’s Sean O’Haire enters the ring at number twenty-two, and he is the tenth man to currently enter the ring. He goes right over to Adonis Jordan, knocking him off of Batista, and then moves over to Guerrero, dropping him with a chop, and then pulls Mysterio up into a side back breaker.

Meanwhile, Angle and Benoit are still going at it, trading chops for right hands in a corner as Edge pulls himself up, dropping O’Haire from behind. He then grabs Benoit from behind and holds him in place for Angle, and Kurt begins to go to town. Christian comes over and joins in, and he begins to hammer away on Benoit as well; however, the Crippler begins to fight his way free, chopping all three of them, and then clotheslines Angle over the top rope! Kurt lands on the apron and latches onto the bottom rope for dear life, and as Benoit tries to boot him off and to the floor, Eddie comes up behind Benoit and almost dumps him on his head! Meanwhile, Christian motions to Edge to go help Eddie, but as soon as Edge turns his back, Christian goes to rush him! Edge, however, turns on a dime and tosses Christian over the top rope and to the floor, eliminating him after over 30 minutes in the match!

Once Christian hits the floor, Edge grins down to him before turning around, where Sean O’Haire is right on him, dropping him with a thrust kick! Meanwhile, Christian begins to throw a fit on the outside, but the officials are forcing him to the back. Over on the other side of the ring, Benoit spins around Eddie and takes Latino Heat over with a German suplex, jamming him into the mat! As the countdown begins, Benoit, Guerrero, Angle, Edge, and Mysterio are all down on the mat, leaving Randy Orton and Adonis Jordan squaring off with Sean O’Haire and Batista!

“Mr. Wrestling” Nick Dinsmore is the final Evolution member to enter the match, and as he makes his way down, Orton and Jordan break out into grins, now making it 3 on 2 for Evolution over The Authority. However, as soon as Dinsmore makes it to ringside and climbs onto the apron, the Raw General Manager Ric Flair hurries down after him!













As Dinsmore stands on the apron, Flair makes his way down red faced and yelling at Dinsmore that he’s still a member of The Authority! Dinsmore steps into the ring and looks down to Flair, and then to O’Haire and Batista who call him over to their side, and then to Orton and Jordan who call him over to theirs!














The Smackdown! General Manager Athene is next to hit ringside, reminding Dinsmore that he IS a member of Smackdown!, thus a member of Evolution! Dinsmore looks down to Charlie on the floor, but Charlie simply looks away, not giving him any incentive to remain on her side. As Nick stands between the two groups, the countdown begins on the big screen.

The crowd then EXPLOOOOOODES as “Basic Thuganomics” rapes the speakers, and moments later, the NEW United States Champion walks out onto the top of the stage, JOHN CENA! Everyone in the ring turns their attention to the attention getter as Cena slides into the ring, standing across from the two dominant groups and waves his hand in front of his face! This prompts Adonis Jordan to rush forward, and Cena quickly backdrops him OVER the top rope and to the floor!

Cena then runs over Orton and Dinsmore on his way to clotheslining Sean O’Haire over the top and to the floor! The crowd is going WILD as The Doctor is cleaning house while Flair is throwing a fit on the outside! Batista then charges Cena, but John ducks him and meets him with a right hand, followed up by a second, and then a third. John then comes off the ropes with a lariat, but Batista stands firm. Cena then comes off with a second, ducks a Batista lariat, and then comes barreling in off the ropes with a flying shoulder block that finally takes the big man down! Cena then pumps up the crowd, and his kicks, and calls for Batista to stand. As soon as he does so, John hoists him onto his shoulders and JACKS him into the mat with the FU!

Number 25 belongs to Teddy Hart, and he bounces out onto the stage as the crowd is STILL going wild for Cena! Cena leans over Batista, waving his hand in front of his face, but as soon as he turns around, Edge BLASTS him with a Spear! Edge pops right back up to his feet, pulling his hair back and SCREAMING at Cena about how he stole his United States Championship! As Edge does so, Benoit hurries in from behind him and flips him over the top rope and to the floor, eliminating Edge after 31 minutes of action!

Eddie Guerrero now snatches Benoit up from behind, taking him over with a snap suplex and pops his hips, taking him over with a second, and then a third. As Benoit is down and out on the mat, Teddy Hart bolts up to the top rope and comes flying off with a twisting corkscrew, connecting dead on! Eddie does a shoulder shimmy and goes up to the top rope himself, but before he can fly off, Angle runs right up the ropes, shoving Eddie off and to the floor, eliminated!

Meanwhile, Randy Orton is attempting to eliminate Batista, and he keeps calling over for Dinsmore’s help, but Nicky D is pre-occupied with Rey Mysterio, trying to flip him over. Ted Hart comes over and helps out Dinsmore, allowing Nick to go over to Randy, but by this time, Batista is fighting his way free and he drops BOTH Orton and Dinsmore with a double clothesline!

Next to hit the ring is one of the men that aided Jesse Hart earlier on this evening in locking The Undertaker in the casket, John Heidenreich. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Batista has had enough of waiting for Dinsmore to make up his mind, and he rushes towards the ropes, clotheslining him over and to the floor to Flair’s protests!

Orton now rushes in for another RKO, but Batista counters it and hoists Orton onto his shoulders, slamming him into the mat with a running powerslam! He then goes over and grabs Teddy Hart by the throat, but Heidenreich quickly mugs him from behind, protecting yet another Hart. Batista begins to fire back, but big John takes the advantage. He goes to fire him across, but Batista reverses the Irish whip and catches him with a HUGE Spine Buster on the return!

Batista slams him into the mat so hard that he goes stumbling over, landing in the ropes. Mysterio takes advantage and flips over the top rope and onto the apron, rushing over and spins around the ring post, DRILLING Batista with the 6-1-9! The Demon goes stumbling back as Mysterio springs off the ropes with the West Coast Pop! Batista, however, catches Rey and goes for the Demon Bomb, but Mysterio begins to pound away at his head and stumbles him into the ropes, flipping over with a Hurricanrana and surprises the WORLD by dumping Batista to the floor!

Foghorns then blare over the speakers as a long, white limo with bull horns at the front drives out onto the top of the stage. The crowd all looks on in anticipation as the limo driver steps out of the car and opens up the back door, and a moment later, out steps John “Bradshaw” Layfield!










JBL walks out and tips his cowboy hat to the crowd, waving like a politician as the match continues inside of the ring. Back in the ring, Teddy Hart is barking orders at Heidenreich to take down Benoit, which he does. He then sends him towards Angle, and he doubles the gold medalist over. Randy Orton backs into a corner as big John stalks in after him, holding his hands up. Ted quickly calls John back, letting him know that Orton is cool.

Meanwhile, JBL is taking his sweet time to make his way down, shaking hands with fans along the way. Once at ringside, he pulls out a wipe and begins to wash his hand to a round of boos from the crowd. Back in the ring, John Cena takes action, working over Heidenreich. Teddy goes to rush Cena, but Mysterio catches him on the path with a low dropkick to the knee. As Teddy drops down to the mat, Mysterio hits the ropes and races towards him, drilling him with a low dropkick to the mouth! JBL finally enters the ring, and as soon as Rey turns around, he races towards him and spins him inside out with a HUGE Clothesline from Hell to a round of boos from the fans! The crowd then begins to count down as JBL walks around the ring, holding his arm up in celebration.

WHAT THE ROCK!

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiis Cooooooking!








The crowd goes INSANE as THE ROCK races down to the ring. He slides inside and IMMEDIATELY runs Orton over with a Brahma Bull clothesline! He then ducks a Clothesline from Hell by JBL and begins to drills him with three straight right hands. Rock then takes a step back as JBL is dazed and mocks him, waving to the crowd with a big goofy grin before blasting him with a spitting right hand, sending JBL flying over the top rope and to the floor!

Meanwhile, Cena has Heidenreich dazed by the ropes, and he calls Rock over. They begin to double up on him with right hands, and then finally send him crashing to the floor with a double clothesline! Ted attempts to save Heidenreich but is too late, and he finds himself face, to face, to face with Cena and Rock. He goes to rush off, but they both grab him and hip toss him HIGH into the air, over the top rope and to the floor! This now leaves Rock, Cena, Benoit, Angle, Orton, and Mysterio as the countdown begins.

Number 29 belongs to Charlie Haas! The crowd pops LOUDLY as Haas comes tearing down the ramp and slides into the ring, spearing Angle to the mat and begins to UNLOAD with a series of right hands! Kurt rolls away and into a corner, pulling himself up and trying to cover up as Haas goes wild with right hands! Benoit comes up behind Charlie and gets an elbow to the mouth for his troubles. Charlie then swings around him with a German, crunching the Crippler into the mat!

Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio spots Orton leaning against the ropes and charges forward for a 6-1-9, but Orton ducks it, and as soon as Rey swings himself into the ring, Orton clotheslines him OVER the top rope and to the floor! Mysterio has now been eliminated after 33 minutes of competition!

On the other side of the ring, Angle charges Haas, but Charlie goes low and rolls him into the Haas of Pain! For some reason or another, Orton quickly stomps on Haas, breaking it up before getting dropped by Chris Benoit! Kurt now slumps towards the ropes, and Charlie comes in for a clothesline, but Angle ducks it and pulls down on the top rope, and Haas goes sailing over and onto the apron! Kurt then sends a Haymaker over to knock Charlie off, but Haas ducks it and places his head between the ropes, lifting Angle OVER the top rope and to the floor with a backdrop!

The crowd goes WILD as Kurt Angle goes crashing into the barricade after competing for nearly 30 minutes! Haas steps back into the ring, and the crowd cheers for him loudly. Meanwhile, The Rock and John Cena now square off, and Rock motions for Cena to “Just Bring It!” Cena, however, waves his hand in front of his face in reply, and the two stand nose to nose, staring and jawing at one another. The fans then pop as they begin to trade right hands, going shot for shot as the next countdown begins!

GLASS SHATTERS!









The crowd then EXPLODES as number 30 is none other than STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN, who comes roaring in from the back on a four wheeler, riding directly OVER JBL’s limo! Austin parks his ride partway down the ramp and comes tearing down, slipping out of his vest and runs over Kurt Angle on his way to the ring!

Once inside, Austin begins to drop everything that moves with right hands. He then kicks Orton in the gut and sends him flying across the ring with a Stunner! Benoit is next in line, and he receives a Stunner as well! John Cena quickly hoists Austin onto his shoulders, but Stone Cold floats over and kick, wham, STUNNER on Cena! The crowd goes WILD as Austin stumbles back into a Rock Bottom set up, but he battles his way free and STUNNER TO THE ROCK!

Rock goes flopping all the way across the ring as Austin has cleaned house! However, before he can get to Haas, Kurt Angle slides back into the ring and grabs Charlie from behind, taking him over the top rope and to the floor with an Olympic Slam! The crowd BOOMS with boos as Kurt Angle slides out after him, throwing a fit and kicks over the ring steps! Back in the ring, everyone left has been stunned to the mat, and Austin simply tires to pull them up and toss them over, when Orton crawls up behind him and drills him with a low blow! We are now left with Randy Orton, Steve Austin, The Rock, John Cena, and Chris Benoit!

Back on the outside, Angle is LIVID and he picks up the ring steps, measures Haas, and then BLASTS him in the head with them! Angle slams the steps to the floor and grabs Charlie by the head, slamming it into the steel steps! Charlie Haas is busted wiiiiiiiiiide open as Kurt latches onto his ankle with the Angle Lock! Kurt twists the ankle dramatically as the fans absolutely BOOM with boos! Both Rumble officials, Earl and Brian Hebner hurry over, trying to separate Angle from Haas! They finally succeed and call for help as Kurt begins to walk backwards up the ramp, grinning from ear to ear as he wipes Charlie’s blood off his hands.

Back in the ring, Austin has Rock hung upside down over the ropes, trying to eliminate him. Cena then rushes in from behind, trying to flip them both over! Rock goes over and lands on the apron, holding onto the bottom rope for dear life as Cena attempts to eliminate Austin. Over on the other side of the ring, Randy Orton drills Chris Benoit with right hands near the ropes, trying to work him over. He then goes for a European uppercut, but Benoit latches onto his arm and attempts to drop him onto the mat with the Crossface! However, Orton spins through and cradles Benoit’s head, going for the RKO! Benoit battles back, continuing the spin, keeping a hold of Randy’s arm and tries to muscle him onto the mat. Orton fights for his life, and he spins free once more, and then follows it up with a clothesline that catches Benoit off guard, sending him over the top rope and to the floor! Randy Orton has eliminated Chris Benoit after over 50 minutes in the match!

The crowd LYNCHES Orton, chanting “YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK!” repeatedly at him as he gloats in the ring, backing into a corner and holding his arms out to his side. Meanwhile, Austin rocks Cena back with elbow shots to the head and moves on him, waiting for him to turn around and sends a kick forward. Cena catches it, however, and spins Austin around and gives him a shove, and Austin goes charging towards The Rock who goes low, pulling down on the top rope and backdrops Stone Cold over and to the floor! We’re now down to four, and Orton makes the crowd forget about Austin as he comes up behind Cena, leaping into the air and cradles his head, JAMMING him into the mat with the RKO!

On the outside of the ring, the “You Suck” chants seem to have angered Angle and he comes back from the backstage area, steel chair in hand and he BLASTS Stone Cold across the head with it! Angle then shoves the officials away and goes back to town on Haas, dropping him back down to the ramp with an Olympic Slam before latching onto another Angle Lock! Both Hebner’s hurry over to the ramp and call for back up, trying to neutralize the crazed Kurt Angle!

Back in the ring, Orton and Rock stand across from one another, staring deep into each others eyes. They then meet in the middle and begin to trade right hands as Cena rolls into a corner, clearing his head. Rock begins to get the better of Orton, working him back into the ropes. Randy reverses an Irish whip, firing Rock across, but the Great one comes rebounding off the ropes with a flying clothesline! Rock then nips up to his feet to a HUGE pop from the crowd, waiting Orton to his feet.

Randy hits the mat and rebounds to his feet, stumbling right into a Rock Bottom set up! Randy immediately begins to battle free with elbow shots to the head, and as soon as Rock stumbles back and then forwards, he goes for another RKO! Rock, however, shoves out of it, and Randy goes chest first into the ropes, latching onto the top one as Rock charges in for a huge clothesline. Orton ducks low and pulls down on the top rope, but he doesn’t quite get Rock over. Rock ends up on Orton’s shoulders, gripping the top rope and holding on for dear life as Randy tries to dump him out. The crowd then begins to make some noise as Cena pulls himself up, hurrying over and lifts Orton’s legs up off the mat, dumping him AND Rock over the top rope and to the floor!


JR: MY GOD! MY GOD! JOHN CENA HAS WON THE ROYAL RUMBLE!!

Jax: THE DOCTOR OF THUGANOMICS IS GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA!


The crowd EXPLODES as Orton and Rock hit the floor, and Cena goes from side to side in the ring, falling into the ropes and gripping his head in shock at what he’s done! HOWEVER, both Hebner’s are still trying to get Angle out of here, and they have yet to see the finish! Charlie O’Neale realizes this and slaps Orton repeatedly across the face, yelling at him to get up! Orton remains sitting on the floor, dazed from hitting his head, so Charlie has to muscle him up and rolls him onto the ring apron.

Rock also realizes what is going on and slides back into the ring. He looks out to the ramp as officials are dragging Angle to the back kicking and screaming, and then sets his sights on Cena from behind. The refs return their attention to the match as Rock charges Cena from behind, but John sees him coming and goes low, lifting him onto his shoulders for an FU! However, as Rock squirms on top, Cena stumbles towards the ropes and drops Rock onto the apron. He then begins to hammer away on Rock with right hands, but Orton comes in from behind and flips Cena over, and with the help of a backdrop from The Rock, they send Cena crashing to the floor, and the officials deem him eliminated!

The crowd is up in arms, not knowing who to cheer for as Cena is eliminated after WINNING the Royal Rumble! Now, as Rock looks down to Cena from the apron, Orton charges in, hooking Rock’s head and JACKS him throat first into the ropes with an RKO, and Rock goes rebounding off the ropes and flailing to the floor, and the refs call it!


The bell rings as “Evolve” blasts over the speakers, and Randy Orton is announced as the OFFICIAL winner of the 2005 Royal Rumble! Orton sits on his ass in the middle of the ring, gripping his head in disbelief about how it all worked out! Charlie hurries into the ring, meeting Orton in the middle with a huge embrace!

Over on the outside, John Cena petitions his case to the officials, but the decision stands! The fans are absolutely BOOMING with boos as Randy Orton has stolen this match!


Jax: Do you know what this means, JR? This means that Randy Orton will challenge Jesse Hart for the World Championship at WrestleMania!

JR: And from what I’ve seen, this means that all hell if going to break loose on Smackdown!


The show comes to an end as Randy Orton celebrates in the ring, perched on the middle ropes and holding his arms up above his head as The Rock and John Cena watch on from the outside, having come THAT close to winning it all themselves!
