“I Don’t Suck!” blasts over the speakers to a round of boos from the fans as Kurt Angle walks out from the back. He stops partway down the ramp and throws his arms above his head in time with his pyros before making his way down, ignoring the LOUD “You Suck!” chants in tune with his theme.









“World’s Greatest” then plays as Shelton Benjamin bounces out onto the top of the stage. The crowd pops for him as he marches down the ramp and into the ring, going right at Angle with right hands!


They trade blows shot for shot until Benjamin takes the advantage, working Angle back into the ropes and then fires him across, dropping him with a wheel kick on the return! Kurt hits the mat and rebounds right back up to his feet, and Shelton takes him over with an arm drag, followed up by a second, and then a third! Angle rebounds back up to his feet once more, just to be sent flying over the top rope and to the floor by a standing dropkick!

The crowd taunts Angle on the outside as he shakes his head, trying to figure out what hit him. Meanwhile, Benjamin races towards the ropes, leaping to the top one and tight walks along it before leaping off with a cross body, connecting dead onto Angle! The crowd cheers as Shelton pops right up to his feet, playing to them as he pulls Angle up and rolls him into the ring. He then climbs onto the apron and goes right up to the top rope, waits for Kurt to stand, and then flies off, going for a sit-out clothesline, but Kurt catches him and breaks it up, immediately taking Shelton over with an over the head belly-to-belly suplex!

Angle quiets the crowd down as he halts Benjamin’s momentum, pulling himself up and takes a few deep breaths. He then moves in on Shelton and stomps on the back of his knee, grabbing his leg and pulling it towards the ropes, placing his leg on it and STOMPS down onto it. He then pulls Benjamin away from the ropes by the leg, with Shelton hopping on the other one. Kurt smirks as he taunts his former pupil, slapping him across the face! Benjamin’s eyes go wide and he DRILLS Kurt upside the head out of NOWHERE with an enzaguri!

The crowd gets behind Shelton as he pulls himself up, pulling Angle up and drills him with a few forearm shots to the mouth. He then fires Kurt across, but on the return Kurt swings around him with a schoolboy, immediately turning it into the Angle Lock! Benjamin immediately grabs a hold of the ropes, and Kurt is forced to release the Angle Lock, holding his fingers together and tells Benjamin that he was “this close.”

Benjamin pulls himself up and they circle, locking up. Kurt quickly latches on a headlock, wrenching down on it. Benjamin shoves out of it and leapfrogs Kurt as he comes back off the ropes. Angle hits the other set of ropes and comes running right back into the set up for the Exploder! Angle drills Benjamin with elbow shots, breaking his grip and goes low for an Olympic Slam, but Shelton floats over with a sunset flip for a VERY close two count!

Kurt rolls through and right to his knees where Shelton leans over him, holding his fingers together and telling Angle that HE was “this close!” The crowd goes WILD as Kurt bolts right up to his feet, charging towards Benjamin, but he side steps him and Kurt hits the ropes. On the return, Shelton goes around Angle and hooks his head, pulling him down into a reverse DDT across his knee, and he pulls up on the leg for the one, two, TWO!

The crowd is right into this match as Angle kicks out, walking right into a headlock takeover. Benjamin holds Angle on the mat, but Kurt fights his way to his feet and goes to take Shelton over with a back suplex, but Benjamin does a full flip and lands on his feet, throwing a kick forward that Angle catches. Kurt then swings him around, going low for an Olympic Slam, but Benjamin DRILLS him in the mouth with a spin kick for the one, two, TWO!

Right back on their feet, Benjamin is all over Angle, going to fire him across but Kurt holds on and swings around him, taking him over with a German suplex! Kurt holds on and rolls through, connecting with a second, crunching him into the mat! Angle now goes for the trifecta, but Benjamin does a full flip out of the German and lands on his feet, and as soon as Kurt turns around, he takes him up and over and JAMS him into the mat with the Exploder! He hooks the near leg, and the ref counts the one, two, THREE!

No! The official waves it off as Kurt’s foot is in the ropes! Benjamin’s celebration is cut short as the ref explains the mistake. Shelton, and the crowd, are LIVID, arguing the call! Meanwhile, Kurt struggles to pull himself up, and as soon as Shelton approaches, he DRILLS him with a low blow, leading to an Olympic Slam, crashing him into the mat!

Kurt now gets to his feet and PULLS DOWN THE STRAPS, stomping up and down on the mat and drops to his knees, locking in the Angle Lock! The crowd begins to boo loudly as Benjamin screams out in pain, scrambling for the ropes! As soon as he nears them, Kurt pulls him right back into the middle! Benjamin grips the back of his head before pushing up, getting to one foot and dives for the ropes, latching onto them for dear life! Angle tries to pull him away as the ref begins his mandatory count, but Shelton refuses to let go! Once the ref reaches five, he gives Angle one last chance, but Kurt refuses to let go and the official is forced to call for the bell, disqualifying Angle!

Kurt, however, couldn’t care any less as he drops down to the mat, wrapping his legs around Shelton’s, twisting his ankle tremendously and trying to snap it, SCREAMING at Benjamin to “TAP OUT!”, and Shelton finally gives in, tapping out dramatically!











Charlie Haas now comes tearing down the ramp, still with his arm in a sling and rolls into the ring, going over and stomping on Angle! Kurt breaks the ankle lock and rolls over, but Charlie drops down to his knees over Kurt, hammering away at him with his one good arm to a HUGE pop from the crowd! However, it only takes Angle a few moments to pull Haas’ legs out from under him, latching on another Angle Lock!











Nat Taylor now hits the ring in a hurry, making a b-line for Kurt! Angle quickly releases Haas and rolls to the outside, holding his hands up and nodding his head, not wanting anything from Nat.

Nat stares coldly at him as she kneels down between Haas and Benjamin, and Kurt simply smirks on his way back up the ramp as we go to a commercial break.
