I take it all back, the west indies are class. Lets just stick a load of kids in the england side and we can score 400 plus in a day against australia. Still, at least they;re getting hammered in the series as a whole. As for this notion that the finch is some sort of working class hero who's cricketing, footballing and academic careers have all been savagely oppressed by the middle class oligarchy at the King's school. Its just laughable. The whole idea of a grammer school is to give bright kids from all backgrounds the chance of a good education and all of the extra-curricula activities that come from a good school. Secondly, this working class-middle class divide sinply isn;t there. Adnittedly there are a number of big cricketing families in town: we know who they are, and their children normally get in the first year sides. Usually because they are the best players. But after the first few games, its just down to merit. I remmeber some people who were "automatically" seclected for the first games such as: oli allen (that bastion of middle class cricket in grantham), david tedbury (i hear they still talk in whispers at gorse lane about the Docs devastating pace), lewis caley (from yet more world reknowned cricketing pedigree). etc etc. Just get over it. And I've never been negative about your achievements. When have I ever laughed at you?
