Revelation 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Possibly no book stirs as much interest and speculation as the Book of Revelation. Within that book possibly no character inspires more speculation and conversation than the antichrist. Reading in chapter 13 we have the mention of his power and miracles many of which are performed at the hand of the false prophet. All of the wonders that he performs are mimicked signs and wonders that have been carried out by the hand of God in times past. There are many who doubt that any man or god can do such wonders and miracles and chalk them up to myths, wizardry and fantasy.

In Genesis we have Sodom, Gomorrah and two other cities destroyed by fire that God sends down from heaven. In 2 Kings chapter 1 God destroys two companies of soldiers sent to take Elijah captive. In 1 Kings 18:38 God sent fire to consume the water soaked offering of Elijah when Elijah had challenged the prophets of Baal to a match of power between Baal and Jehovah. We see then there are plenty of instances where God sent fire down on earth. The examples I have cited are but a few of the several recorded occurrences. Satan has always tried to demonstrate his power before men to convince them he is God but his power can never come close to the power of God.

Satan and his ministers are imitators (2 Cor. 11:14-15) of God and the wonders they perform are quite real at times but they would not necessarily have to be supernatural events to convince people what he is doing is proving the prophecies in the bible concerning him as God (2 Thess. 2:3-5).

I feel it is possible the prophecy in Revelation 13:13 is one of them. Consider if you will, the possibility that the fire from heaven is from military weaponry. The U.S. military is sending fire from heaven almost daily. Any leader in any nation of the world who possesses drones and missiles can call fire down from heaven at will. The U.S. military according to Lindsay Graham as of February 2013 had killed 4,700 people in drone strikes in various places around the globe. Not only are drones a real possibility but fighter jets and bombers bring fire down from heaven on order from authority. Add to these examples the work being done on military grade laser weaponry and you see an even more literal possibility of fire being called down from heaven with pin-point accuracy that could pick a single person out of a crowd and burn him to a crisp almost instantly. Satellites in space carrying powerful lasers are in the planning stages now. The possibility of modern technology fulfilling prophecy is becoming more real every day.

The prophecy of not being able to buy nor sell without the mark of the beast is making more sense every day. With the electronic currency in use today through credit/debit cards it makes it easy for a dictator to wipe out all checking accounts and savings with a few clicks from a keyboard hooked to a computer. Implanted chips could carry the mark that could be scanned at any check-out at any retail outlet. Think about it.

There are some who have decided they can hoard a huge amount of food and supplies and get around that edict. We need to realize something. We don't even own our own property to live and hide on. You say, "I do, and I have the deed to prove it." Well so do I but if I stop paying my taxes how long is that deed good for? What are you going to pay taxes with if your account was confiscated for not taking the "666"? Where are you going to live and hide out? With a sky full of drones with heat seeking cameras that can see day or night where are you going to hide? In addition how many could survive a winter such as we are experiencing today in a wilderness hideout. Granted a few could but could you?

Notice how the "noose" is tightening around the necks of Christianity and conservative people in general. The I.R.S. scandal. The NSA scandal. How about Homeland Security? Our moral laws are turned upside down. The glorifying of homosexuality and the degrading of Christianity by many of our leaders. Notice how more and more Christianity is portrayed as evil and violent while blood thirsty Islam is portrayed as the "religion" of peace. Beware, it is prophesied in Daniel that a person will rule and " by peace shall destroy many: " (Dan. 8:25) Hate speech that hinders and in some cases bans the preaching against Islam and homosexuality. .Legalizing of drugs and on and on we go.

Please realize I am not stating anything emphatically but am simply doing an exercise that might get all of us to thinking and realizing how much of prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes and we don't want to miss the signs. The end, as we know it, is surely upon us. How many days or years I cannot know. I do know this though. I will in less than three short years reach my "three score and ten" and it seems like but a moment in time. If the Lord delays His coming for ten more years what is that in our lives as time moves so fast. Think how much more evil and dangerous the world has gotten in just the last ten to fifteen years. The pace seems to be accelerating to the extent that if things keep picking up pace at the present rate the evil in the world in the next ten to fifteen years is going to be astonishing to those who see this present evil world for what it is.

Dear folks get ready. The next few years will be interesting to say the least.
