Important because of who the writer is:

~ Helen Steiner Rice ~

Granny Wren had it up at one of her sites and the "The Helen Steiner Rice Foundation" asked her to take it down...no reason given.

-----------------------------

Inspirational poet Helen Steiner Rice often uncredited

She turned a series of personal tragedies into a lifetime of inspiration. Her plans to attend law school were shattered when her father died during a flu outbreak in 1918. Her husband committed suicide in 1931 after the stock market crash. Nevertheless, she became a nationally known public speaker, a campaigner for women's rights and a writer of verse for Gibson Greeting Cards of Cincinnati. It is estimated that she wrote as many as 250 poems a day and 2 million during her lifetime. They have been translated into 20 languages. Many of the verses were not signed, which accounts for some of the anonymity.

You didn't do anything wrong. Gerard is just....well.... Gerard.
Bilbo made a good point, though, don't you think? When we see something we like and it doesn't have a name after it, let's Google it and see what ELSE we can turn up. I know I don't stop to question enough, either.
Thanks for sharing it, Sandy. God bless!

Actually, I did think about doing so. But chose not to having received many poems before without the authors name at all.

And will I ever post something again that is not right entirely. Probably so. :-)

Do I mind someone telling me it isn't. Not at all.

And yes, thanks to Bill, I did finally find this ou. Which I truly appreciate. As if he had not told me, doubtful I would have known about it at all under the circumstances. Even though it was obviously known of course.

luv Sandy
