It's easy to see from his writings that he was relating what God told him to say and, of course, it would be 100% accurate.

I have read that Daniel was a true historian. Notice he starts off relating who was king at the time and where he, himself, is when he writes each chapter. I think that's one thing that makes it such an interesting book.
