David wrote most of the Psalms but he didn't write all of them. I would suspect he had all of them compiled but he doesn't claim authorship of all of them.

Asaph, who was a recorder (2 Kings 18:18) and appointed singer (2 Chron. 5:12) wrote many of the Psalms. Psalms 50 and then 73 through 83 are attributed to Asaph

Psalm 90 is a prayer of Moses

While a great many Psalm are not given authorship I would suspect many are David's and Asaph's but it is also probable that there were some other authors that the compiler of Psalm felt worthy to be included in the Book of Psalm.

As to God's special affection to David we have the words of the Lord to Samuel as God told Samuel to anoint the one whom God had chosen to be King over Israel. "the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."(1 Sam. 16:7)

Acts 13:22 recounts that God called David a man after his own heart.

Even though David messed up a few times he always repented and tried his best to please God. God saw special qualities in David that he looks for in all His children. David indeed was very special to God.

I knew you'd have the answers for me, especially. 8-)
I haven't read 1 Samuel in many many years. I guess I need to reread it, eh?

Did you have a nice Christmas? We had a very enjoyable time with all the kids and the two hubbies. It was one of the best Christmases ever.

this Christmas was mostly a bummer. My oldest granddaughter got married and we had to have Christmas early as she was leaving for Norfolk Virginia. Her husband is in the Navy.

My mother in law got salmonella poisoning and has been in the hospital for over 3 weeks. We thought we had lost her a week and a half ago but she seems to be coming around now. Dale is with her and has been from the 1st day she was put in the hospital. She has spent all but 4 nights at the hospital. Her sister from Indiana has come in and spent the last 4 nights with her.

They are presently moving her to re-hab and she is to stay there for a week or two until she gets hers strength back.

Dale is suffering with a bulged disk so is hobbling around quite a bit. I have fixed her a traction to lay in and that is helping when she can get time to lay in it.

Haven't got to see the twins much for these last three weeks so am suffering withdrawel there.

Oh well, maybe next year will be better. God is still on the throne, the sun will still come up tomorrow and all this too shall pass.

I am glad you have had a good Christmas and got to spend that time with your family.

For me to be with my wife, children and grandchildren is the best Christmas there is. Presents don't mean anything to me although I do enjoy giving, especially to my grandchildren.

With Annette, my youngest, and her boys and husband in Montana I expect it will be a rare Christmas that we can all be together again.

While I am at it I pray that you and all that visit here will have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

God bless,
Dwight

I am so sorry everything seemed to go wrong for you at what should be a joyful time. Isn't that what happens sometimes though....remember the old saying "It never rains but it pours." We have all had periods like that. I do hope and pray that Dale and her mother regain good health quickly and 2011 will be a good year for all of you. Hugs!

I know you're worried that Dale will overdo it with helping her mom, but you probably know she's gonna do it anyway, so just be there for her and maybe you'll just have to tie her down in that traction, huh? *-)
I'm sorry your family is spreading out so far and wide. I know you've always enjoyed having them all together. Don't give up on it happening again. Just make Christmas on any week they can come home for a visit. Doesn't have to be on the day we chose for celebrating Christ's birth, right? And tell the kids you need a twins fix this weekend! 8-)
Well, this old gal is off to bed. Enjoyed talking to you today. I will not leave you again, my friend. Big huggggg....
